Hey, everybody, welcome to The TMZ Podcast. My name is Tony, filling in for Branson Today, and I'm joined by Alexa Klum. What's up, Alexa?
Sean Hannity (0:14)
Hey, thanks for having me.
SPEAKER_1 (0:15)
Of course, of course. Happy Friday. So we got some big news. We're just going to jump straight into it. Katie Zacharia set a record today.
SPEAKER_3 (0:22)
This is insane.
SPEAKER_1 (0:24)
She is gone as the White House press secretary.
SPEAKER_3 (0:27)
In a flash.
SPEAKER_1 (0:28)
It's it's great. I just I did not see this coming this fast.
SPEAKER_3 (0:31)
I honestly didn't think so either. I thought Trump is so like he really stands by the people that he hired. Yes. Up until like the very last minute. But this was very.
SPEAKER_1 (0:42)
They were getting a lot of pushback. We'll get on to the details. We're going to play a couple of clips of Katie Zacharia. She went on Hannity. She went on. She was on the White House lawn this morning. She had an interaction with the reporters. We'll play all of that. Our second story, we're going to dive into Selma Blair because she is responding to her most recent run in on the airplane.
SPEAKER_3 (1:01)
Yes.
SPEAKER_1 (1:02)
And then lastly, we'll end with a little bit of lore.
SPEAKER_3 (1:05)
Yes.
SPEAKER_1 (1:05)
So there's a certain, I'm not going to spill who, but there's a certain celebrity who has, who wears a certain fashion style.
SPEAKER_3 (1:12)
Yeah.
SPEAKER_1 (1:12)
And there's a reason behind that.
SPEAKER_3 (1:13)
And this is insane.
SPEAKER_1 (1:15)
Yes. So we'll get all into that. Excuse me.
SPEAKER_3 (1:19)
Love it.
SPEAKER_1 (1:19)
All right. So Katie Zacharia fired as the White House press secretary after just five days, according to the New York Times, her tenure was shorter than Anthony. I remember Anthony Scaramucci. You remember, I don't know if you watched Stephen Colbert, but you remember on his monologues, you always call Scaramucci the mooch. And that's how I remember him.
But yeah, his 11 day stint was originally the shortest. And she beat it today by six days.
SPEAKER_3 (1:45)
So I don't know if that's a record you want to beat.
SPEAKER_1 (1:48)
Yeah. I don't think anybody wants to. I wonder if we'll hit a day soon.
With our current state of the world and just politics, it would not shock me if in the future, some press secretary is fired after that.
SPEAKER_3 (2:01)
It's just like maybe within hours.
SPEAKER_1 (2:04)
They would have to be really bad.
SPEAKER_3 (2:05)
That would be, yeah.
SPEAKER_1 (2:06)
So there's three parts or three things that really showed the buildup to this happening. We're going to highlight each one. The first one being Trump's comments. So he spoke to reporters on the lawn today, and he told reporters that Zachariah had been treated very, very badly by the media and did not need the headache with the job. And he said she's a very nice person. And it was saying, and the reason we're not playing it is because there's a freaking helicopter going off in the background. I don't want to torture you guys' ears. But basically he says she doesn't need to deal with the media and she's been treated very badly. My first question is, for one, she wasn't even in a week.
How can we even make that judgment?
SPEAKER_3 (2:48)
First, correct. Second, her job is literally to deal with the media.
SPEAKER_1 (2:52)
That is her job. I'm so glad you said that. We're gonna play.
SPEAKER_3 (2:56)
That is her job.
SPEAKER_1 (2:56)
So Sam, sorry, we're gonna actually play the One American News clip. So speaking of that, there was this interaction that she had on the White House lawn today. And we're gonna react right to it. Let's just play it.
Morning, Katie.
Katie Zacharia (3:09)
Morning.
SPEAKER_1 (3:09)
Morning, Katie.
Katie Zacharia (3:10)
Do you have any questions? I'm not taking any questions, but I wanna let you know I'm looking forward to working with all of you so much. Please get my number, reach out to me, call me, text me, email me. I would love to work with all of you, and I'm so excited to be working with President Trump and on behalf of the American people. So thank you very much for not taking any questions.
SPEAKER_1 (3:31)
It's literally your job to answer questions, and it's a terrible look.
SPEAKER_3 (3:37)
I mean, she looks great.
SPEAKER_1 (3:39)
Yeah, absolutely. But at the same time, it's your job to answer questions.
SPEAKER_3 (3:46)
I mean, and she walks in being like, take my number, get my email.
