We think we're hilarious and thought you would too.
Meena Qayed (0:09)
We talk to each other, to you, and sometimes ask friends to join.
Natalie Qayed (0:12)
This is Don't Call Me Shut Up.
Meena Qayed (0:20)
I can hear the intro.
Natalie Qayed (0:25)
I'm emotional to our 12 listeners. Are you still there?
Meena Qayed (0:29)
All 12 of you. Thank you for hanging on for dear life.
Natalie Qayed (0:33)
Meena, we have not been podcasting, and it's because of you.
Meena Qayed (0:37)
No. Listen.
SPEAKER_1 (0:39)
I'm not taking any of that.
Meena Qayed (0:42)
It's because of you.
Natalie Qayed (0:43)
It's because of me.
SPEAKER_1 (0:45)
You secretly became a nurse.
Natalie Qayed (0:47)
Y'all, if any of you don't know us on socials, or you don't know us in real life, and you just happenstance listen to the pod, the reason why you will see an awfully large gap in the recording schedule is because I got overwhelmed with nursing school, and I could not, I did not have the bandwidth to podcast, but your girl graduated. I walk across that stage next week.
By the time you're listening to this, it's gonna be like a few days out from me like walking around the room. All of our besties are coming in from California.
SPEAKER_1 (1:20)
This is like I'm graduating from nursing school.
Natalie Qayed (1:22)
So I mean, when I told you originally two and a half, three years ago, I was like, hey, I think I want to go to nursing school. What were your immediate thoughts?
Meena Qayed (1:33)
You don't say shit you don't mean. Because Aunt Kathy didn't raise no batch like that.
Natalie Qayed (1:38)
That's powerful.
SPEAKER_1 (1:39)
You say what we mean, mean what we say.
Natalie Qayed (1:42)
So you were like, oh shit, she's going to go to nursing school.
SPEAKER_1 (1:44)
I didn't doubt it for a second.
Natalie Qayed (1:45)
God, that's so fun.
SPEAKER_1 (1:46)
I started looking at nursing schools. Remember, I was like, there's this one that has a genie lamp next to me. That's the one I applied for.
Natalie Qayed (1:52)
And you're like, what? And then, yeah, I just feel like so much shit has happened in the last two years. The house got hit by a tornado. We had to move out of our house. I had to have our house rebuilt, move back in. And I managed, you know, mom had a quadruple bypass while I was like in classes. And then you got married. I had to take an exam drunk from a hotel room. Like, just a lot going on. And I just I've passed. You guys, I'm a nurse.
Meena Qayed (2:18)
Not only did you pass, but you like were fanging.
Natalie Qayed (2:22)
I don't do things I'm not good at. And I was like, listen, if I'm going to do this, I'm going to get good at it. And you know what's the best part? I had the best time.
SPEAKER_1 (2:31)
Yeah, you made some besties.
Natalie Qayed (2:33)
I made some freaking besties that like I'm going on a walk with Cassidy in the morning. We're going on a hot girl walk tomorrow. I know we're going on a hot girl walk tomorrow. I literally like people go to school, I feel like, and they're like, Oh God, get me out of here. I really, really enjoyed my experience. I love being a know-it-all. I love knowing all the things. Like I'm just on this graduation trip with our friends, you know, and everyone's like, why do you think this thing happens to my eye? I'm like, well, and it's like, I know the answers. And I'm so iconic.
Meena Qayed (3:01)
Anyway, you're an icon. You're a queen.
Natalie Qayed (3:03)
You're a nurse. I'm a nurse. You guys, I'm a nurse. I'm so excited. Anyway, so that's my major life update. What have you been doing, my dear sister?
Meena Qayed (3:12)
Surviving without you.
Natalie Qayed (3:14)
No, tell the people what you've been doing.
Meena Qayed (3:16)
What have I been doing?
Natalie Qayed (3:17)
We have not told the podcast that you are a tattoo artist.
Meena Qayed (3:21)
No, I'm not. I'm a tattoo apprentice. I'm about five months away. Okay.
Natalie Qayed (3:25)
Well, I have several of your tattoos on my body currently.
Meena Qayed (3:28)
Yes, you do.
Natalie Qayed (3:28)
So, great apprentice.
Meena Qayed (3:30)
Thank you.
Natalie Qayed (3:31)
You guys, Mina's doing fine line tattoos. Every single time she texts me a picture of a new one that she's done on somebody, I'm like, the fuck? Like, she literally was like, I'm only going to do these kinds. And then she got better. And then she was like, I don't do any of these. And then she got better. And now I'm like, she's shading. She's she's drawing original artwork. What the fuck is going on?
