Bitcoin rips to a two-week high on an Iran peace deal, and the US government shuts down Anthropix's most powerful models. This is CoinDesk Daily.
Bitcoin climbed to its highest level in nearly two weeks after the US and Iran reached an MOU to end hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The token surged above 66,000, up about 4% on the day. The rally was broad. Ether, Solana, and XRP all gained, and Hyperliquid's hype jumped more than 10%. ARK Invest bought nearly 3.3 million shares of SpaceX on IPO day, a stake worth more than 500 million by the close. The shares priced at $135 and ended their first day up more than 19%.
To fund the purchase, Cathie Wood's firm liquidated 48 million across 13 companies on Friday. And, the US government ordered Anthropic to shut down its two most capable AI models on Friday. The order cited national security and required Anthropic to suspend access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for any foreign national. The company then shut down both for all customers.
