We're recording today out of our Industrius office in New York City, which is perfect for a team like ours, because Industrius takes care of everything, so we can focus on bringing you the news.
Mosheh Oinounou (0:12)
Yes, we recently moved to the co-working space Industrius. They have locations around New York and around the world. We have an office in Manhattan. We've also turned one of the offices into a podcast studio, where Jill and I record the podcast.

And while we're working on putting it together, I love the snacks. They're complimentary, you've got all day coffee.
Mosheh Oinounou (0:30)
They have special treats on a day-to-day basis, every morning and every afternoon. Sometimes it basically serves as your breakfast. I've obviously used the office in New York, but whenever I'm on the road, I make sure to look up if there's an Industrius there. So I've used it in DC, I've used it in Indianapolis. It is a great co-working space, and we have a special deal for all of you. I said, check it out and see if it's a place where you just want to work out of individually, if you need a break, or if you want to move your office there. Right now we have a special deal going with Industrius. We're offering 50% off for first-time Daypass users. If you need a meeting room, if you need office space, or again, just a desk in the open space, head over to mo.news slash Industrius. When you see these beautiful spaces in person, you'll see what we mean. Again, mo.news slash Industrius. Book a tour or use it for the day. 50% off.
Hey everybody, it is the 21st of September, as in, do you remember? It's the 21st day of September. You're listening to the Mo News podcast. I'm Moshe Oinounou.
Jill Wagner (1:23)
And I'm Jill Wagner. This is the place where we bring you Just to the Facts.
Mosheh Oinounou (1:28)
And where we read all the news and read between the lines so you don't have to. It is officially Earth, Wind and Fire Day here on the Mo News podcast and everywhere else around the world. Jill, the iconic September song came out in the late 70s.
And if you're wondering how they chose the 21st night of September for that song, Jill, the writer of the song, Ellie Willis, who passed away unfortunately several years ago, says that they literally just went through all the dates of September. And they said, do you remember the first, the second, the third, the fourth? And they just went with the 21st, not for any more important reason than it sounded best.
Jill Wagner (2:00)
Mo, sometimes the simplest explanation is the right one. Yeah.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:04)
Funny enough, this song teaches a lot of lessons because there's also the part of the song where they go, Badi-ya.
So apparently, Willis, who came out on the 21st night of September, was against the Badi-ya and told the other singer, Maurice White, what's with the Badi-ya? Like, what does that even mean? He goes, who cares what it means? It just works. So Ellie Willis said at some point in the NPR interview, I learned the greatest lesson ever in songwriting from him, which was, never let the lyric get in the way of the groove.
Jill Wagner (2:32)
Well, it's a hit and all of these years later, we're still talking about it and it's still played at basically every wedding. I imagine it's still played at weddings to this day.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:42)
Yeah, it's iconic.
Though I imagine it's also one of the probably the most banned songs on weddings. There's the overused wedding song. So I imagine just in general, it's discussed before every wedding. Are we playing it?
Jill Wagner (2:57)
It was on the Do Not Playlist at my wedding, if we're being honest.
A special request from my husband. Moshe, it is also the beginning of Oktoberfest in Germany. It's a 16-day holiday.
Mosheh Oinounou (3:11)
Yes. And then in much more serious holiday news, it is Yom Kippur today, the Jewish Day of Atonement. Many Jews will be fasting for 24 hours as they seek to get written into the Book of Life for the year. This is the high holiday period for Jews that began with the Jewish New Year just over a week ago.
And so I hope everyone is having a meaningful fast, Jill. We're taping this just before the holiday began on Sunday.
Jill Wagner (3:36)
That's right. So if there's any crazy breaking news that we don't hit, you know why.
Mosheh Oinounou (3:41)
It happened after sunset on Sunday.
