I feel like my relationship with money has changed a lot as I've gotten older. It mostly used to be about, am I paying my bills and putting some money away? Now there are so many moving pieces and competing priorities, so I want to feel like I know exactly where I stand, not just hope that everything's okay. So that's what I like about Monarch. Having our accounts, investments, savings goals, and spending all in one place, it gives me a much clearer picture. There have definitely been months where I've looked at our spending breakdown and thought, wait, we spent that much on that? Seeing it all laid out makes those patterns really obvious. I also love Monarch's AI assistant. I can just ask questions about my finances instead of digging through transactions myself. It definitely takes some of the mental load out of managing money and helps me feel like we actually know where we stand. So write your own money story with Monarch. Use the code MONEWS at monarch.com to get your first year of Monarch Core half off at just $50.
That is 50% off your first year at monarch.com. Code Mo News.
Mosheh Oinounou (1:08)
Hey, everybody. It is Tuesday, October 20th. You're listening to the Mo News podcast. I'm Moshe Oinounou.
Jill Wagner (1:12)
And I am Jill Wagner. This is the place where we bring you just to the facts.
Mosheh Oinounou (1:16)
And where we read all the news and read between the lines so you don't have to.
Jill Wagner (1:20)
Moshe, the big talk in the Mo News newsroom today is that new documentary about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. You could see everything. Moshe, you and I both have not seen it yet, but it will expand to a wide release this coming up weekend.
Mosheh Oinounou (1:36)
Yeah, it was released on more than 850 screens, more than 2,000 sold out shows. Apparently everybody else in our team saw it and raved about it.
Jill Wagner (1:45)
And can't stop talking about it.
Mosheh Oinounou (1:47)
Though notably none of them have kids.
On a weekend. So they were able to escape and go see it. I am hoping to see it at some point. This of course has had those very viral trailers and teases with Nathan Fielder awkwardly staring at Elizabeth Holmes, living with her bizarre, beyond bizarre, but apparently extremely revealing.
Jill Wagner (2:12)
Yes, Sari on our team, who just had a baby a few months ago, on our editorial call was like, am I ever going to get to see this?
Mosheh Oinounou (2:21)
You're like, Sari, you have one kid, you might be able to escape. Those two kids are going to be even more challenging between all of it. But yeah, it'll be one of those things, Jill, where we'll have to wait for it to hit one of the streaming services.
Donald Trump (2:32)
Exactly. Eventually.
Jill Wagner (2:35)
All right. To the headlines now, two weeks until the midterms, millions of votes have already been cast, and President Trump is set to visit seven red or reddish states in seven days.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:47)
What the president is saying publicly about what he thinks is going to happen, what Republicans are saying privately, and what we know about where he's going and what it tells us about the state of the election.
Jill Wagner (2:59)
To Paris, where the world's top tourist destination, the Louvre, has shut down amid those violent protests in the city.
Mosheh Oinounou (3:07)
Yeah, a lot of frustrated tourists not able to see the Mona Lisa yesterday. Among the many other things you have available at the Louvre, it comes as France announced curfews is trying to crack down on the violence.
Jill Wagner (3:17)
To the war in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin floating a summit with President Trump and the Chinese leader Xi Jinping to talk about a Ukraine deal.
Moshe, there's someone missing there. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Mosheh Oinounou (3:31)
Yeah, he raised his hand and said, how can you guys have a summit without me? Now Trump is saying, well, we won't necessarily talk about Ukraine. We've got a lot of issues to discuss at this big conference coming up in November. Well, we'll tell you about the latest there, as well as Trump's big endorsement just over a week until the big Israeli elections.
Jill Wagner (3:50)
You get a share.
You get a share. Elon Musk says he's giving out SpaceX stock to every kid in America. And I hope our audience gets the Oprah reference.
Mosheh Oinounou (4:01)
I mean, it's not that old. You should be able to get the, you get a card.
