Hello, everyone. I'm Thomas Wasson. We're at Trimble Insights 2026 in San Diego, California here. Wonderful event so far. We're coming to you from the Barkcast booth driven by Fleetworthy. We have an audience of both people and animals. If you hear any barking, it means we're doing a great time. After all, this is the Barkcast. Well, enough about me. We're going to be talking with Michael Kornhauser with Trimble about some of the wonderful stuff they've been working on. It's Monday. We have had day one of the event, a really wonderful keynote. Michael did an excellent job.
This is just a victory lap at this point, but let's dive in here. Michael, great to see you man catching up as well.
For folks who don't know you yet, tell us a little bit about yourself.
Michael Kornhauser (0:54)
Sure. Michael Kornhauser, I'm currently responsible for our go-to-market and our maps division at Trimble.
I've been in the industry for pretty much my whole life. My parents founded a company called ALK in the late 70s, which is the builder of PC Mylar and then also the co-pilot solution. Then we transacted that business with Trimble in about 2013, and I've been with Trimble ever since. Insight, as I said during my speech this morning, Insight is my favorite time of the year. We get to come and really show off all the cool stuff that we built over the last, well, in this case, 10 months. Usually, we have it a year offset, but we had it a little late last year. Now it's just been 10 months, but we've been able to do some really amazing things in our product and engineering organizations, and this is our showcase of them.
Thomas Wasson (1:53)
Well, let's catch up. Last year, especially in the world with AI and AI tools and agents, you guys are doing a lot of cool stuff. You've recently announced some new stuff that you're cooking up. Give me the highlight reel before we dive into some specifics that this year that you're most excited about. Yeah.
Michael Kornhauser (2:09)
I'll just say a couple of things that we've realized with AI over the last, well, I mean, couple years, but certainly accelerated over the last year. First of all, when I think about AI, I think about how we use it internally, and then of course, how we build it into our products and give our customers the ability to leverage it. If I talk about the internal piece first, we're, as many businesses are using AI throughout pretty much every part of our business. What it's doing is fundamentally providing better customer service to our customers, better account management to our customers. We're using AI to track phone calls and create action lists and make sure that we follow up on those. I think that's all pretty standard stuff, but again, it's certainly helping us improve a lot internally. When I get into our product and engineering organizations, about 92 percent of our code is written without human intervention. So what that obviously does is really accelerate what we can build into our products.
And even in the last year, we've added things to the product, we've done things in terms of modernization of our products, that even 10, 12 months ago, we could not have conceived.
And then that ultimately really brings the value to our customers. So yeah, a lot happening on the AI front for sure. We're using it heavily internally, but also in our products. And so then when I get to our products, with our AI internal use that I mentioned earlier, as well as building in our products, one thing that we did was we built AI agents that we first wanted to kind of use and test out internally before we offered them to our customers. So over the last, call it probably two, three years ago, started building AI agents to use internally. One for customer support, one for product management, one for testing code, one for building code. We started to realize that we had all these distinct agents and it wasn't really clear where the line from one to other went. We found ourselves kind of managing a group of agents. That's I think really what our strategic shift has been for this year is with our product Trimble Arc Agent, which is one single agent with many, many skills. So if you can think of all the individual agents as individual skills within an over arching Arc Agent, you don't have to necessarily say, OK, I am going to do this, so I need to contact that agent. You just contact the one agent and it figures out which one's best to kind of light up underneath the surface. So that's really been a really cool advancement. And again, it came from us eating our own dog food, building agents for ourselves to use that made ourselves more productive, provide better customer support, better customer service, and then OK, how do we then take them out to our customers?
