So far, it hasn't happened, it might happen, but we take care of things. If something like that happens, we take care of it.

The Democrats' 11th hour replacement for Graham Platner is locking into place, and both the choice and process are prompting controversy.
**SPEAKER_7** (1:11)
If you think at least part of Platner's, you know, meteoric rise to success was because of his charisma and his personality, Jackson doesn't have that.
**John Bickley** (1:20)
The FCC is poised to make a major ruling on ABC's daytime talk show, The View.
**David Bozell** (1:25)
If they're not listed as a bonafide news program by the FCC, there's a strong possibility the ABC probably has to kick The View to a streaming platform.
**John Bickley** (1:34)
Plus, the dozens of new charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate are unsealed.
**Georgia Howe** (1:39)
Thanks for waking up with Morning Wire. Stay tuned. We have the news you need to know.

A devout Orthodox Jew invited about a dozen friends to pray in his home. His city required him to get a permit and recruited his neighbors to spy on him. It sounds impossible, but it happened in University Heights, Ohio to a man named Daniel Grand. That's why Alliance Defending Freedom and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe are defending Daniel at the US. President Trump is making a series of bold moves on the international stage, including in the Middle East and in regard to Canada.
**Georgia Howe** (2:32)
Joining us now to discuss is Daily Wire opinion editor, Ben Domenech, host of The Big Ben Show. Ben, thanks for coming on.
**Ben Domenech** (2:38)
Good to be with you.
**Georgia Howe** (2:39)
So we've got a lot of updates on foreign policy, but first let's talk about up north. We have a new wave of tariffs that Trump levied on Canada. Tell us about those.
**Ben Domenech** (2:50)
So the way that the administration is framing these and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was advocating for them the most publicly is that they are in response to Canada's unwillingness to come to the table and negotiate. And the way that he put it was that every other nation around the world has responded to tariff action on the part of the United States by negotiating in one part or another.
And yet when it comes to, and yet the two nations that have not are Canada and China. And so because of that, because of the treatment of dairy products, of American alcohol, of a number of other products as well, that they're sensitive to, the president has levied these 50% tariffs. Now, the public framing of this is that it's in response or following from his true social post complaining about the horrible smog that came down from the Canadian fires, something that we saw previously in 2023 The president himself in the Oval Office said, that's not the case and in fact, this was something that was in response to these other different signals that Canada was sending. I think that it's really about bringing them to the table, considering that you're dealing now with Mark Carney. Though it is a bit amusing that they were both together, of course, at that World Cup final, and I'm sure that Donald Trump did not tip his hand, just given the fact that they seemed very friendly at that moment.
**Georgia Howe** (4:14)
Yeah.
Is this just tough negotiating or are we looking at potentially a lasting realignment with Canada? Also, how much leverage does Canada actually have in these negotiations?
**Ben Domenech** (4:25)
I don't think that they actually have a lot here. And Canada, part of this is motivated by the fact that Canadian politics has been rocked by a number of different statements from the president.
