The Rubin Report: Poland, Borders, and Europe's Hidden Immigration Divide

When borders, ideology, and national survival collide, the arguments get fierce fast. In this episode of the Rubin Report, Dave Rubin speaks with Dominik Tarczyński, a former Polish parliamentarian and current member of the European Parliament, and this conversation pulls no punches. Tarczyński's central argument is bold. Poland became safer by refusing mass migration, and he presents that decision as a model for the rest of Europe. He literally says, "Be like Poland, or you will die."
That's a pretty extreme claim. What's his evidence? He points to Poland's low unemployment, strong GDP growth, and lack of terrorist attacks as proof. But here's what makes his perspective distinctive—he ties this position to Poland's brutal history of invasion, partition, World War II, and communism.
He argues that because of that past, Poles understand what's coming before others do.
So it's not just about economics for him. He insists that safety matters more than wealth.
Now, a major theme here is his view that the problem isn't migration itself, but what he calls Islamization. Tarczyński says Poland welcomes Christian identity and has long lived with Tatars, but not jihadists. And he draws a hard line. He declares that "until Poland is able to build a cathedral in Qatar, there will not be a single new mosque in Poland." That's his reciprocity argument. What about other European politicians? Does he think he's alone in these views?
Actually, no. He says European politicians privately agree with him even when they stay silent in public. According to Tarczyński, foreign money and outside influence distort European politics, and he points to corruption scandals as proof that many leaders are, in his words, owned. On border security specifically, he describes Poland's response as a wartime measure. He claims the government changed the law quickly, allowed live bullets against threats at the border, and treated the crisis as a hybrid war involving Belarus and Russia. And his proposed solution is even more aggressive. He calls illegal migration a demographic war rather than a humanitarian issue. If he were in charge, he'd process arrivals at the airport, arrest them, and send them back within three days. He says, "Give me three days. In three days, the whole problem will be solved." There's a deeply personal dimension to his politics too. His grandfather fought the Germans and later the Soviets, his father helped found Solidarity, and Tarczyński says that family history taught him to hate communism and reject ideological surrender. That anti-communist lens shapes his view of America. He says Bernie Sanders and AOC represent communism, warns that campuses and media are pushing dangerous ideas, and urges Americans to "be like Poland" by speaking plainly and resisting pressure.
The conversation ends with a full-throated endorsement of Donald Trump. Tarczyński calls Trump the best president in U.S. history, says he "saved the world from wokeness," and argues that strong leaders must be willing to do unpopular things before freedom is chipped away piece by piece.
