Folks, welcome back to another game-filled edition of Select Start, the video game podcast for ACMG presents TALK TIME LIVE and talktimelive.com. I am your host, Xavier Josiah, and we got a fun show for you today, lots to talk Let's about talk about. but in our final stage, I will give my thoughts on LEGO BATMAN. I finally got my hands on it. I said I wasn't going to play it until it hit the Switch 2, because I don't want to buy it twice. And second, I want to always play on the go. So my trust for the Switch 2 never dies out, because I've played ports on the PlayStation 5, and I've played ports on the Switch 2 of the same games. And a lot of times, I have the same amount of fun. I don't, you know, the whole resolution and frames per second doesn't bother me. And a lot of times, you can't tell the difference. And if you do, you're too superficial for that matter, and you're focusing on the wrong thing. So I'll get my thoughts on that game in our final segment. So we'll do that. But before we do any of that, today is my sister's birthday. But not only is she celebrating her birthday, there's a huge honor and a huge congratulations I need to give her, because just yesterday, and I was able to be a witness to this, she completed, successfully completed her dissertation and is now achieved doctor in status. She is now Dr. Ayanna Washington. And I want to say congratulations, happy birthday, and I love you deeply. If any reason why you know, you see me doing what I do is because of Dr. Washington, because of the strength that she carries. I was heavily influenced by that, and she's the reason why I have been on the right direction. She's one of the main people. I mean, when you come to it, like there's a lot of people I can credit to all the things that I've been able to do.

When it comes down to the genesis of it and the nucleus of it, my sister is the one that really kept me on a grind.

Not only just making sure it kept me out of trouble as much as she could possibly can, which wasn't an easy task, especially growing up as a teen, but also just seeing her achieve so much, dating back to when she was in high school herself, and working and grinding, like from working from McDonald's to local retails and all this stuff. Every time she worked at a local job or whatever like that, she ended up achieving upward mobility and from the smallest ways to the biggest ways, every job she had, she got a promotion. Like that's how diligent she was, and I've always admired that. In fact, here's a true fact, all these interviews that I've done probably was inspired by the fact that she actually did an interview in high school way back with the, with actors from this movie called Toy Soldiers. And I don't know how she got that opportunity, but I thought that was the coolest thing ever, that she was able to do that. And I think some of that just, you know, transitioned over to me.

And I got the bug to do that, you know, so, you know, just her diligence and her work and assertiveness, you know, rubbed off on me in a lot of ways, and it allowed me to achieve my own success. Going to college, you know, actually, my journey was crazy. Like, I started college, but my mom passed away, or mom passed away, I should say, and I stepped away from college for at least, I swear to goodness, I think like four or five years. And then I decided to come back, and I came back with a vengeance, and lo and behold, you know, I found out that I was on the Dean's List, and it was none other than my sister who told me this, because she was working in administration back then for the school that I actually attended. And I didn't, I was so focused, I didn't, I was, my intentions wasn't to be on the Dean's List and be on an honor roll and all this stuff. I was just grinded because like now I have my second chance to, you know, get back in school and really do something and, you know, prove that I am, you know, I have worth. I didn't realize that it took me to this far and she somehow found out that I made it to the Dean's List, which was awesome that she was the one that she was able to tell me because she went all the hell that I put her through.
