Get to more on this in a moment first. I saw this new PureTalk offer, and my first thought was, that is cheaper than a burner phone in a spy movie, really. Except it's actually a real phone. Unless you need a burner phone or a business phone or a phone for your teen, for a limited time, any PureTalk plan is just 15 bucks a month for your first three months. No contracts, no cancellation fees, outstanding US-based customer service, and Consumer Reports gave them five stars in every single category. PureTalk is great, I've been using it for years. Daily Wire's epic fantasy TV series, The Pendragon Cycle, Rise of the Merlin is topping the charts on Amazon Prime, first overseas and now here in the US. It's reached as high as number one in fantasy in the US and number three among all TV series.

John Bickley (1:21)

Because of all that buzz, we thought it was high time to re-air our original interview with one of the stars of the series, Rose Reid, who talked to us right before the series first aired on Daily Wire. Enjoy.

Freedom is given to us by God, not government, but its ability to endure arrests with the people. We're seeing our God-given rights tested, threatened, and violated right now, and we must stop it before it's too late. Our friends at Alliance Defending Freedom are fighting some of the most critical legal battles of our generation. Upholding biological truth, defending free speech, preserving religious liberty. But they depend on friends like you to keep up this work. Your gift today powers the very legal battles that are defining freedom's future. Every dollar you give today will be matched by a special grant while funds last. Visit joinadf.com/wire or text wire to 83848 to make twice the impact for freedom today. That's joinadf.com/wire or text wire to 83848

Joining us now in studio is Rose Reid, one of the stars and writers of the new Daily Wire Plus series, The Pendragon Cycle. Rose, so great to have you in studio. Thanks for coming on.

Rose Reid (2:32)

Yeah. I'm so excited to be here. It's so cool to get to finally meet you both.

John Bickley (2:36)

You too.

I'm a little starstruck. I mean, we've got screens. People don't know this at home, but we have screens all over the office that are just playing Pendragon scenes. So you're all over the place.

SPEAKER_6 (2:46)

Yeah.

Rose Reid (2:47)

That's a little alarming for sure. I was walking through the cafeteria there and was like, oh, that's the bowl sequence. Okay, cool. That's always a little unnerving.

SPEAKER_6 (2:56)

Yeah.

John Bickley (2:56)

Here I am injured badly again and again and again.

Rose Reid (2:59)

Yeah. It's a little nicer though because I have a very different hair color. So I feel like I'm flying incognito with slightly darker hair right now. So that makes me feel like I'm one of the cool celebrities with the sunglasses.

John Bickley (3:10)

Yeah. Built-in protection. Yeah. Look, it's an epic series.

I'm curious. I have a bunch of questions for you. But I'm curious what it's like to step back and look at yourself in a series like this. I mean, this is big. You've done a lot of projects. But this one seems like in terms of scope, maybe the biggest you've worked on, right?

Rose Reid (3:29)

Yeah, definitely.

John Bickley (3:31)

What is that like for you? What is it like seeing yourself on the screen in this form?

Rose Reid (3:35)

Well, I feel like alarming isn't really the right word to use to say, seeing myself on screen in this form. But it's definitely, it's a very cool thing. I'm a huge fantasy nerd, and so especially as a writer, I've always wanted to write fantasy.

So getting to come on board and not only write, but also act in a very high fantasy show has just been really incredible and very daunting. And there were a lot of fears and challenges going into it, but I'm very grateful that I got to be part of it, but still it just, whew, there were some growing pains for sure on this one.
