Welcome back to our new weekend format, The Briefing: Our Take.
Speakers: Chris Spyrou, Sacha Barbour Gatt, Justin Hill, Chris
**Chris Spyrou** (0:08)
Hello, it is Chris Spyrou here, and sitting opposite me virtually is-

**Sacha Barbour Gatt** (0:14)
Sacha Barbour Gatt from home today. Sorry for the echo. I don't have anywhere quiet in my house to record.

**Chris Spyrou** (0:20)
It actually sounds pretty good. I'm very impressed by the quality of these microphones. Throwback to COVID when you were given them by the business. They've held on.
Welcome to Our Take, the Saturday show, the brand new Saturday show where we talk about a big story or something that happened this week that we did not talk about during headlines or a deep dive, where we get to open up our inbox and we hear all from you, our listeners, you know, the comments, the DMs, the emails that you sent through and also our brand new quiz, weekly quiz, which features people from around the business, but eventually briefers. And there have been some briefers that have reached out and so excited for them to get in studio.

**Sacha Barbour Gatt** (0:58)
We've got to come up with a name for this because I've heard it called The Quiz, I've heard it called The News Quiz, I've heard it called Weekend Quiz and you just called it The Weekly Quiz.

**Chris Spyrou** (1:05)
Is that what I called?

**Sacha Barbour Gatt** (1:06)
Yeah, we need to settle on a name. I've gone, when I was writing into the script today, I've gone Weekend Quiz.

**Chris Spyrou** (1:13)
Yeah, The Weekend, I'm pretty sure that's what I wrote last week as well. That is what you wrote last time.

**Sacha Barbour Gatt** (1:16)
I just went off what you wrote. So I'm happy to stick with The Weekend Quiz, I think we need uniformity and we need to keep it the same.

**Chris Spyrou** (1:22)
Yeah, no, I agree. Thank you, trustee captain, for keeping us in line. I wholeheartedly agree.
So we'll kick off with the inbox. And hold on, I've got to find... I'm flying solo. We, everyone? Guys, everyone in this building is sick. We have no one panelling our show. I am flying solo. So hold on while I find it. Stand by.

**Sacha Barbour Gatt** (1:47)
This week we are opening up the inbox early because you guys felt pretty strongly about this one.

**SPEAKER_4** (1:53)
So me pulling up at Sydney International Airport and getting out in the rolls and I've got the boot open, I'm pulling Pauline's bags out, the faces, the people are like, what's going on? Pauline, call! Can we get a photo? And it was like quite a little weird scene down at the airport.

**Sacha Barbour Gatt** (2:08)
So what you just heard there was a tiny, teeny tiny little snippet of a conversation that went for more than an hour between Kyle Sandilands and one Chris Spyrou. He's got an interview with Kyle this week, who's launching his own show on his own app and platform on the 10th of August. So not next week, but the week after on Monday. Now, this, you were really excited about this one, Chris, I think as you should be, you're a Sydney boy man, you've listened to radio most of your life and you're very aware of who Kyle Sandilands is.
And yeah, it was a good get. I think it was a great opportunity to interview someone like Kyle. And not to just talk about the show and plug it, it was way, way, way more than that. But we put a prompt in the broadcast channel when we found out we got this interview and we said, what would you like us to ask Kyle? Now, we got six responses and only one was a question. Do you want to take us through some of the comments we got on that, Chris?

**Chris Spyrou** (3:08)
Yeah, I will add a caveat. There were, I got a bunch of replies to the story and my story, and I got a few direct DMs that I did eventually, I did actually put to Kyle as well. There were some pretty good questions in there too. But the broadcast channel, which is usually my favourite place to look and scrape for info. It was, yeah, it wasn't that helpful this weekend. In terms of like mining for content and mining for questions, but there's feedback in there, so let's go through them. There was a message here from listener Jane, and she wrote, this might be the first episode I don't ever listen to.
Which like, I'm a little bit bummed out about, like I get it, I get that people don't like Kyle Sandilands. They have a view of him and maybe they form that view themselves or maybe they've formed that view because of others. But like, he's not everyone's cup of tea. That's totally fine. But I was a little bit disappointed that, you know, people would think that this would be a free ride for Kyle to just talk about stuff and not really have a conversation with him.
