I feel like my relationship with money has changed a lot as I've gotten older. It mostly used to be about am I paying my bills and putting some money away? Now there are so many moving pieces and competing priorities, so I wanna feel like I know exactly where I stand, not just hope that everything's okay. So that's what I like about Monarch. Having our accounts, investments, savings goals, and spending all in one place, it gives me a much clearer picture. There have definitely been months where I've looked at our spending breakdown and thought, wait, we spent that much on that? Seeing it all laid out makes those patterns really obvious. I also love Monarch's AI assistant. I can just ask questions about my finances instead of digging through transactions myself. It definitely takes some of the mental load out of managing money and helps me feel like we actually know where we stand. So write your own money story with Monarch. Mosheh Oinounou (1:08)
Hey everybody, it is Friday, October 16th. You're listening to the MoNews podcast. I'm Mosheh Oinounou.
Jill Wagner (1:13)
And I'm Jill Wagner. This is the place where we bring you just the facts.
Mosheh Oinounou (1:17)
And this is where we also read all the news and read between the lines so you don't have to. On this National Bosses Day, Jill.
Jill Wagner (1:24)
How you doing, Mosheh?
Mosheh Oinounou (1:27)
That's what I get. Mosheh, I'm so grateful. I kid, I kid.
Katie Zacharia (1:32)
Mosheh, what would we do without you?
Mosheh Oinounou (1:35)
We actually tried to play a trick recently on a new employee where we, in the inaugural Zoom, he was on, we're like, let's play a joke where like, all of you have to go around and something we do at every meeting is you have to praise me and talk about how great I am.
Jill Wagner (1:46)
No, no, no, no. It was you have to praise a member of the team, any member of the team, and we all did you.
And we did ridiculous things. Like, you're getting more handsome by the day, Mosheh.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:00)
It wasn't ridiculous enough because he sort of didn't quite understand what we were putting down there.
Needless to say, you guys are all here for news purposes, not because you're acting skills. But when our next employee comes aboard, I need you guys to really up the praise.
Jill Wagner (2:15)
So it was Alec, who is one of our new producers. And we did such a bad job of trying to convince him that we all should praise you, that he actually went and it was really thanking someone that did something nice for you.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:28)
And he didn't thank me.
Jill Wagner (2:30)
And he did somebody else. He actually, I think he did Lord.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:31)
Because you guys didn't get the vibes right. It wasn't enough over the top. And so anyway.
Jill Wagner (2:36)
Actually, Mosheh, you should take it as a compliment that he probably did not think that that was the kind of operation that you needed to be complimented.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:44)
Yeah, but with all due, I think we need to sign up for an improv class, all of us.
Jill Wagner (2:51)
We just need a better prank for who's ever starting.
Mosheh Oinounou (2:55)
For the next employee. If you have a good prank, message us with ideas.
Jill Wagner (2:57)
All right. Now to the headlines. We are starting with the latest on the tragedy in Oregon, where a teenager shot and killed three small children and a teacher at an elementary school.
Mosheh Oinounou (3:08)
Yeah, several more injured. We'll tell you the latest that have been in Oregon and what we know.
Jill Wagner (3:13)
Then to politics, a little over two weeks until the midterms, President Trump's approval rating has hit a record low in a new Fox News poll. We'll break down the numbers and which issues more people trust Republicans with than Democrats. All eyes on the key Michigan Senate race. Both parties bringing out some star power. AOC is campaigning with Democrat Abdul El-Sayed and Vice President Vance for campaigning with Mike Rogers.
Mosheh Oinounou (3:38)
Interestingly, AOC campaigning in a red part of the state showing the confidence that El-Sayed has right now.
Jill Wagner (3:44)
Meanwhile, a suspicious white powder was sent to election officials in three states. We've got the latest on the investigation. And an update on the new White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia. Did she pass the bar exam in China as she seemed to insinuate? The answer is no, and she offers an explanation. Also an update to a story we've been following all week. President Trump has now canceled the live stream of the US military execution for the Fort Hood killer.
