I feel like Meghan Markle weaponized racism during the George Floyd chaos in the United States. I think she saw it as an opportunity, and she made her exit from the British Royal Family about race to benefit her. And that's why you see so many people passionate about them, and that's why you see so many people defending them to this day, because they truly believe that this was about racism.

Hi all, welcome to Recollections May Vary, a Royal Recap. I'm Kinsey Schofield, here with Kevin O'Sullivan, a host of What Just Happened and Talks Derive Time. Kev, wait, why did we see you on Monday?

Kevin O'Sullivan (1:22)

Well, I was told that you weren't around or something.

Kinsey Schofield (1:24)

What?

Kevin O'Sullivan (1:25)

You were supposed to come on my show. I was told that you weren't available.

Kinsey Schofield (1:28)

No one messaged me.

Kevin O'Sullivan (1:30)

You're kidding.

Kinsey Schofield (1:31)

So rude.

Kevin O'Sullivan (1:33)

Right. Somebody's for the high jump. No, I wanted you on desperately. But here we are talking about internal.

Kinsey Schofield (1:39)

Thank God we're together now because we've got plenty to talk about.

Kevin O'Sullivan (1:43)

Yeah, let's go.

Kinsey Schofield (1:44)

What was your thought when you saw this headline about Prince Harry? Prince Harry reveals impact of leaving military in surprise NATO address.

We weren't expecting to see Prince Harry out and about. The shots started to circulate on social media of him in his suit, walking up the stairs. And then we get kind of a, he would want us to say it was a vulnerable speech from the former working member of the Royal Family now, firmly unemployed.

Kevin O'Sullivan (2:10)

Yeah. Well, you know, the moment Harry seems to be turning into the guy that turns up to an opening of an envelope. He's out there. He's desperate to be seen. Both these two, Meghan and Harry, just headline hunting constantly and pathetically and desperately. But he goes to this military event and it makes a speech that, you know, it's got a lot of validity about how soldiers, military veterans after their long military careers, when they get bailed out of the army, they have to leave or the Navy or the RAF, the Air Force, that a lot of them, you know, the experienced culture shock. They lose their sense of identity. He talks about it himself, that for a while he wondered who he was. He'd lost everything that was, that meant everything to him in his career as a soldier. Yeah, great, great. Yeah, fine, fine.

Obviously some veterans finish their career wounded, injured and unable to resume anything like a normal life. But here's the thing when Harry says, I didn't know what to do.

I lost my sense of identity. Yeah, I'll tell you why you, Harry, lost your sense of identity when you stopped being in the army. It's because you left the army and then right up until today, you did the square root of damn all with your life. You didn't get a job, you didn't do anything, you started faffing around with charity, you married Meghan, you went to America and started calling your family racists, that's what you've done with your life since you left the army. So, all four are worrying and being concerned about military veterans when their careers end because it is traumatic for them. But Harry is not a normal example because most of them, if they're not injured, if they're not wounded after their military careers, they have to do that thing that all of us have to do in the real world. They have to get a job.

Kinsey Schofield (4:17)

Pay the rent.

Kevin O'Sullivan (4:19)

Pay the rent. Yeah, exactly. They have to find an income to pay the rent, to put food on the table, feed their kids, keep a roof over the head of the family. All of that stuff that you, Harry, don't have to do and you didn't do. Think about it. Since he left the army, what has he done?

Has he been gainfully employed with a proper job at all? No, he's just faffed around trying to signal his virtue with various charity projects and tagged along like a lap dog next to his wife while his wife called his family a bunch of racists. So Harry, you know, you are in no position to talk about the trauma of leaving your military career because most military veterans their big worry is money. Where are they going to get the money to survive? You, you don't have to worry about that, do you? So thanks for your concern, Harry, but no thanks.
