Hello, and welcome to The DSR Daily, I'm David Rothkopf. I'm joined today by Riley Fessler. Minnah Stein has drifted off to some part of the universe that just doesn't have internet. What's that about? Where is such a place? Washington DC, naturally. Anyway, it's the two of us.
Riley, you hit us with some stories, and I'll then have an emotional meltdown.
Riley Fessler (0:37)
President Trump's campaign rally in San Antonio, Texas last night was repeatedly interrupted by demonstrators, forcing the president to briefly step back from the stage while security removed protesters and supporters attempted to drown them out. Trump made his third trip to the state.
David Rothkopf (0:52)
I'm heckling you like they were heckling you.
Riley Fessler (0:55)
My security is going to come to your house. Okay, Grizzly is going to start barking.
David Rothkopf (1:00)
Yeah, that could happen.
Riley Fessler (1:01)
Trump made his third trip to the state in less than a month. The bolster and battle of Republican Senator Ken Paxton, who currently trails Democrat James Talarico in polling, despite Texas historically being a GOP stronghold. The president used his speech to launch harsh personal attacks against Talarico, defended controversial remarks about potential Iranian missile strikes in the US cities, and rallied voters as Republican to pour over $300 million into Texas raises to preserve their Senate majority ahead of the midterms.
David Rothkopf (1:29)
Yeah, Trump's speech was kind of like, you know this really stupid thing I did where I picked this really stupid candidate? Well, you should vote for him anyway, because you love me. And the other stupid things that I've done with this war and these other kinds of things overlooked that small price to pay for having me as president. And, you know, it's so like dementedly narcissistic and egotistical, that even at one point when he was decided that he was going to attack Tallarico for being a vegan, he called them vegan at one point, he said that his wife told him it was pronounced vegan.
But when told it, it was like, my wife told me, sir, it's pronounced vegan. And I was like, Melania is referring to him as sir. It's all become muddled together in his diseased mind. And he really looks like he's heading for a historical fiasco. Now, of course, he will respond badly to that. The result will be contested election, even if the results don't warrant that, because he's headed for the most embarrassing moment of his years in the presidency. And that's saying something since he was impeached twice.

President Trump celebrated the automatic enrollment of 60 million American children into Trump accounts, bringing total participation to 70 million kids under 18
Treasury Department automatically deposited a $1,000 seed contribution for eligible children, supported by additional funding from corporate pledges and major philanthropic donations, like $6.25 billion contributions from Michael and Susan Dell. Beneficiaries will gain access to their funds upon turning 18 for Treasury-approved uses, such as higher education or purchasing a home. Drawing...

Or buying Trump meme coin.
Riley Fessler (3:26)
Yeah, exactly.
David Rothkopf (3:26)
Maybe a Trump watch. Yeah.
Riley Fessler (3:29)
I'm sure that'll be on the list of...
David Rothkopf (3:30)
That'll be, of course. Well, I think by the time anybody who's eligible turns 18, it's going to be a long time in the future.
And I think there will be a major effort to erase Trump from the history books.
I don't know. Do you really think 70 million people have been enrolled in this? Have you? Has anybody called you up and said, oh, my kid was enrolled in this thing? If anybody knows anybody who has seen any sign of any kid getting enrolled in this thing, please contact us at rmfessler at trgmedia.com, where we like to have all the complaint emails sent also.
But please contact us or please, if you're watching on YouTube, put it in the comments. Because I'd really like to know if this wasn't a huge big pile of bullshit because honestly, it kind of feels that way. Is that a nice idea to give people money to invest to help for college? Yeah. Is it suspect that they're handing out money before an election? Yeah. Is it corrupt and exactly what you'd expect from them? Yes. And do they lie about these things and they never really materialize the way they're talking about it? Also, yes. So lots of grains of salt to take this with here. Even if there is in the middle of this, one of those very rare, not so terrible ideas from the Trump administration.
