What do you want, Mr. Hagen? I want my life back.

Karan Rao (0:36)

On October 23rd, the procedure is causing traveling physical changes.

SPEAKER_1 (0:40)

What's happening to me?

Karan Rao (0:42)

Look, fear.

Ayesha Mehta (0:43)

You have to learn to control it. In the face.

Karan Rao (0:47)

I have no idea who you are anymore. Tell me who you want me to be.

Cray Face. Only theaters October 23rd. We did all.

Ayesha Mehta (0:58)

Imagine pulling off what you think is the perfect crime. You hide the evidence in a sealed industrial drum, you flee across state lines, you even use the victim's phone to send fake text messages to cover your tracks.

Karan Rao (1:09)

Yeah, you think you're completely in the clear.

Ayesha Mehta (1:11)

Right. Then a few weeks later, your entire meticulous cover-up is just blown to pieces by a passing comment from a six-year-old child.

We are breaking down the chilling conclusion to that Meerut murder case today. Hey there, Ayesha Mehta and Karan Rao here.

Karan Rao (1:26)

Hey, everyone. So glad you could join us today for this deep dive.

Ayesha Mehta (1:30)

It is Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and today we are looking at a really wild mix of developments. Beyond that grim sentencing, we're digging into a massive legal petition claiming 13 crore voters have just vanished from the rolls, and a staggering 40 percent plunge in global oil shipments through one of the world's most critical waterways.

Karan Rao (1:50)

It is definitely a packed board today.

Ayesha Mehta (1:52)

Yeah, let's get right into it.

Karan Rao (1:53)

I will kick things off with this headline, Supreme Court to Hear Opposition SIR Plea.

Ayesha Mehta (1:58)

Right. I saw this one across the wire, and just wrapping your head around a number of that scale is staggering. I mean, 13 crore people.

Karan Rao (2:06)

It really is. So according to reporting by The Hindu, a joint petition from opposition leaders led by Rahul Gandhi is scheduled for the Supreme Court hearing tomorrow, October 15th.

The allegation is that these 13 crore voters were deleted during the Special Intensive Revision or SIR of the electoral rolls.

Ayesha Mehta (2:26)

For anyone not deep in electoral bureaucracy, think of the SIR as the ultimate massive spring cleaning of the national voter database. It's meant to remove duplicates or deceased voters.

Karan Rao (2:39)

Exactly.

But the strategic legal maneuver they are making here is what really stands out to me. Because they aren't just challenging the final published role.

Ayesha Mehta (2:47)

Right. They are going after the actual internal mechanics of it.

Karan Rao (2:50)

Yeah.

The Hindu notes, they are asking the court to judicially examine the election commission's internal records. But specifically, they are seeking full disclosure of the internal files, the agendas, and the file notings recorded by two specific election commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.

Ayesha Mehta (3:10)

Which forces you to ask, why does that matter? Why those two?

And it matters because they are trying to expose the internal decision-making process. By demanding the notes of those specific commissioners, they are essentially looking for documented dissent.

Karan Rao (3:23)

Basically trying to prove that chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar acted entirely unilaterally.

Ayesha Mehta (3:27)

Exactly. Like asking you to see the rough drafts of a group project to prove one person went totally rogue. The bench presided over by Chief Justice Surya Kant will hear this tomorrow.

Karan Rao (3:38)

Right. We will have to see how the court handles that.

Ayesha Mehta (3:40)

Moving to our next story. Wife and lover sentenced to death in Meerut case.

Karan Rao (3:46)

The sheer mechanics of this cover up are just incredibly grim.

Ayesha Mehta (3:49)

They really are.

According to NDTV, Muskaan Rustogi and Sahil Shukla were given the death penalty on Wednesday for the March 2025 murder of Rustogi's husband.

He was a merchant Navy officer named Saurabh Rajput.

Karan Rao (4:03)

After the murder, they hid his dismembered body in a blue industrial drum, right?

Ayesha Mehta (4:07)

Yeah.

They literally cemented it shut. They filled it with cement, sand and water. Then they fled to Himachal Pradesh.

Karan Rao (4:15)

And this is where the digital deception comes in, because they tried to create this whole digital ghost, keeping his phone active and texting his family to maintain the illusion he was just away on a business trip.
