Well, the sheriff, so massive story that has piqued the interest of the nation is this Nolan Wells death that happened in Mississippi. For those that don't know, I don't know if we've really talked about it on the podcast. We've covered it.

**Courtney** (1:14)

Yeah. Oh, you guys have covered it a little bit. So essentially, yeah, we'll get into the investigation. The new headlines are that the sheriff is finally speaking out because people are being quite critical of local police and how they're handling the investigation. So he spoke out, so we will get into that and all the new details about the case.

And then my favorite guy of the week thus far is this guy who went viral at Waffle House for rapping. And we spoke to him, and he's a great guy. And Waffle House, yeah, it was. Yeah, I mean, we'll get into it, but he went viral. He's an employee at Waffle House in Atlanta, and we interviewed him and he is awesome.

So the Nolan Wells case. So yeah, a little background for starters. So this is the kid in Mississippi who went on a boating trip with his friends on the 4th of July, went missing, and the friends returned without him, and they found his body a day or days later in the water off Horn Island.

**Courtney** (2:48)
Yeah.

**Deven** (2:49)
People originally thought it was a drowning case, but there's just been a lot of mystery around the case. Why did the friend, why did they have his phone? Why did the friends return without him?

**Courtney** (3:01)
And he was only black friend on the phone?

**Deven** (3:03)
A lot of people are thinking this could be a racial situation.

**Courtney** (3:07)
Especially with Mississippi's history and everything.

**Deven** (3:09)
Correct. So Ben Crump, a really famous attorney, civil rights activist, has taken up the case, and he's been extremely critical. He's been putting out different evidence for getting or videos, photos, that kind of thing.
But he has been very critical of the cops, and has had a lot of people.

**Courtney** (3:30)
I mean, a little bit like rightfully so.

**Deven** (3:33)
Well, yeah, because like, for instance, there was this video which was debunked, but there was a video of-

**Courtney** (3:38)
His nephew talked to the person that- Yes.

**Deven** (3:40)
So a video surfaced from Horn Island, I believe, where it's just panning around showing, like it was just a person who was taking a 4th of July video, but you hear these kids fighting, and it's hard to tell, but some people are saying it could have been Nolan. Like you said, nephew talked to the woman who shot the video, who said, definitely was not him.

Yeah.
