**Deven** (0:08)
Welcome to the TMZ Podcast. Happy Thursday. I almost lost track of days. We almost have made it to the weekend.
**Tony** (0:15)
Almost there. What's up, guys?
**Deven** (0:16)
Devin here with Tony. Good to see you, Tony.
**Tony** (0:18)
Good to see you.
**Deven** (0:19)
Usually, I'm looking at you over there, so it's nice for you to be a little bit closer. Not in a non-creepy way. That one that came out really creepy.
So we got some good stories for you today.
**Tony** (0:29)
Some interesting ones. Some stories with sports angles to it, and one, our lead story is very interesting, and I wanna definitely get your take on that.
**Deven** (0:37)
Yeah, I have one, I promise you. So Nicole Brown Simpson's sister is putting out a PSA that they want the number 32 jersey to no longer be used in the NFL.
**Tony** (0:50)
Period.
**Deven** (0:51)
At all. Any player who's using it can no longer wear 32
**Tony** (0:55)
That's-
**Deven** (0:56)
Very popular number, especially for running backs.
**Tony** (0:58)
Very, very much so. And just in general. It's definitely a popular number in football, but it's just a take that I haven't heard before, but I totally understand where she's coming from.
**Deven** (1:10)
Yeah.
**Tony** (1:10)
From this.
**Deven** (1:10)
We'll get into that.
Massive divorce yesterday. I'll call this an internet divorce, because I feel like maybe not mainstream, but this blew up on Twitter and social media yesterday. Lena the Plug, OnlyFans model, previously, well, I guess, still technically married to Adam22, the host of and owner of No Jumper. She filed for divorce, so we will get into that.
**Tony** (1:34)
Crazy, especially given-
**Deven** (1:35)
A lot of people are dunking on Adam. Adam has already been posting some stuff. I have a theory on this, and I'll get into it. And then lastly, great game last night.
First game of the NBA Finals.
**Tony** (1:50)
I was so pissed I fell asleep.
**Deven** (1:51)
Oh, did you? I watched the whole thing.
**Tony** (1:54)
Right as soon as I got home, I fell asleep, and I had slept until early morning hours.
**Deven** (1:58)
Well, at least you're well rested. But you missed a pretty good game, and we had a fan storm the court.
**Tony** (2:05)
Of course we did.
**Deven** (2:06)
Actually kind of nice, nicely. It actually was kind of like a pleasant fan, so kind of wholesome. And I usually hate when people storm courts, fields, whatever. I love seeing when they just get absolutely annihilated by security. This guy did not, but we will show some of that. Okay, so for Nicole Brown Simpson, so obviously Tanya Brown, Nicole Brown Simpson's sister, released this statement to us today where she is calling for the NFL to eliminate OJ. Simpson's number 32 jersey from use.
June 12th, there is some symbolism here. So June 12th is the anniversary of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson as well as Ron Goldman. And it's the 32nd year since the murders. So that's where the number symbolism is tying in.
She obviously says in her statement, the number is closely tied to OJ. Simpson's football legacy, painful memories surrounding the murders. She's not leading an official campaign. It's like basically what she's doing is putting the statement out there and hope that some people in the NFL see this and that some fans or just people get behind this sentiment. And hopefully the NFL, what she's saying is that the NFL will see this and realize it's very triggering as a football fan for the families that lost someone.
**Tony** (3:34)
If the number isn't able to get retired, she said she liked to dedicate the number to Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. And she's suggesting that players could wear the number in her memory. So like I was saying earlier, I haven't heard this, like a take like this before on the number, but like I said, she's completely justified for how she thinks in my opinion. But what's your thoughts on this?
**Deven** (3:57)
Yeah, so definitely feel for the family. It's obviously extremely tragic what happened. And I totally get it that it could be triggering for them to see number 32
Sorry, the NFL is never gonna do this. They are never gonna retire the number 32 It's been so long.
It's just never gonna happen. And to be honest, it's like, for this to happen, it's like, you have to take some action. You have to find someone in the league office. You have to make, I know I always make fun of them, but what's that stupid website where you get signatures? change.org. You gotta do something a little more official by just releasing a statement. Yeah, it's an interesting talking point. And I totally get where the family's coming from, but it will be talked about today, and tomorrow no one will talk about it again. So, unfortunately, I just don't think the NFL is ever going to retire the number 32
