Dave Hughes (0:49)

Good morning to you on a Tuesday morning. Beautiful day in the Alamont Weld Studios.

Beautiful day outside. A little bit foggy in Southwest Mississippi this morning, but that's okay. We'll take it. Dave Hughes here in the chair on this Tuesday. Rhino in the box as always. How you doing, sir?

SPEAKER_3 (1:08)

Howdy, howdy.

Dave Hughes (1:09)

How's life treating you?

SPEAKER_3 (1:10)

Oh, not too bad. I'm enjoying the cooler mornings. It's tough to handle the hot afternoons when you wake up and you walk outside for a cup of coffee on the porch and you break into a sweat.

Dave Hughes (1:23)

Yeah, no, that's not what anybody's looking for out of life, myself included. There's just something nice and I've noticed that since this front came through and properly adjusted the temperatures, we'll say. You just walk outside and instead of going, I got to go out here for something, you just go, I've stayed in my chair in the backyard for half an hour over the last few days just because it's so nice out there.

And we got another wave on the way, I believe, don't we?

SPEAKER_3 (1:57)

Oh yeah, much cooler on the weekend. We're going to have quite the swing from some highs in the nineties with heat indexes approaching a hundred, and then this weekend we'll have wind chills in the overnight lows in the thirties.

Dave Hughes (2:12)

This is what's known as pneumonia weather. You go from that hot to that cold, like that, nobody knows how to dress, and you wind up getting sick. So remember, as always, as we head into cold and flu season, if you're sick, stay home, because I don't want you coughing on the back of my head in line at the grocery store. That happens every year. I haven't thrown any bagels at anyone yet, but we still got time. It can still happen. Don't do that.

We've got a great show today. We've got Daniel Boggs with us next hour, about an hour from now, talking about the Delta Hot Tamale Festival. I love it. And then at noon, John White from Two Gun Tactical with...

I think it would be safe to say it's an evolving situation regarding suppressors and some of the firearms rules. I had a statement released by Attorney General Lynn Fitch this morning about this. Going to talk to John about it, get his take on all of this. It's kind of up in the air, which is kind of how most things feel right now. I don't know if you've noticed this, but it seems like everything is kind of, I don't know. We'll see. The election, the economy, everything is just a fruit basket turnover.

We've got to find something we can get control of, okay? We've got to find something we can nail down. I don't know what that's going to be, but there's got to be something.

I'm not sure. Well, we'll go with this one. This is our good news. This is our rock to stand upon for this Tuesday. It's Disability Friendly Day at the State Fair. That's awesome. I like that. If anybody is against that, please let us know, and we'll send Gary around to beat you up, if you're against that. I mean, Rhino and I are busy, but Gary, we can ship right out. And he'd do it too, because that's a great thing. I love seeing things like that, that there's no room really to argue about it. There's nothing to stomp your foot. I mean, somebody will, I'm sure, at some point, but there's not really a hook to hang your head on if you're going to the mad factory. It's not something that can logically and legitimately be used to promote angst and conflict. And that's pretty much everything now, Rhino.

SPEAKER_3 (5:02)

Sure seems like it.

Dave Hughes (5:03)

And it seems like it's getting worse. Now, of course, that's because we're a month away from the midterms, not quite a month, a little less than a month now. What, three weeks, I think we've got?

SPEAKER_3 (5:17)

Three weeks.

Dave Hughes (5:18)

Yeah, I think it's three weeks until the midterms. And everybody is in full mode, as expected. But I want to call out one thing I'm seeing, and I'm not thinking of any particular politician. I'm not thinking of any one particular side. This is across the board.
