Dave Hughes (0:51)

Good morning to you. How you doing? It's a Thursday morning.

It is probably better known, Rhino, as Friday Eve. We will take Friday Eve. It's the second best day of the week right behind Friday itself, which we will get to tomorrow. But one step at a time. How you doing this morning, buddy?

SPEAKER_3 (1:15)

A bit warm. Well, now I'm not so warm now that I got to the office. But according to the sleep grade I got from my Apple Watch, the AC went out sometime before 3 AM. It was about 3 AM when I started tossing and turning, and the watch made note of that.

Dave Hughes (1:31)

It's not good now. Imagine if it had happened a month ago.

SPEAKER_3 (1:35)

Oh, yeah.

Dave Hughes (1:35)

Trying to find a positive for you, buddy, because that stinks no matter which way you look at it.

SPEAKER_3 (1:40)

Well, the other positive is I'm a renter, so I can just put in a maintenance ticket, and hopefully they'll have it fixed by the time I'm done here at work.

Dave Hughes (1:48)

That would be really nice. Now, having said that, it may not be turned on when you get home, so you'll still have a little bit of time to get it cooled down, but you'll be okay.

SPEAKER_3 (1:58)

It'll be fine. I'll just stand there by the vent and enjoy the cool, cool air.

Dave Hughes (2:02)

That's all you can do. Is it a sweat day or an icicle day at the mothership there at the home studio?

SPEAKER_3 (2:11)

Thankfully, an icicle day.

Dave Hughes (2:12)

Very good. Very good. So you can regulate. Freeze to death half the day, burn up the other half. It averages out, I guess.

By the way, I don't know if you saw this. Saw a couple of different meteorologists talking about it. South part of the state, maybe the south quarter of the state, has a chance for some storm activity today.

It's just perfect situation. Some of the remnants of Dolly coming across, there's other things in play. It could get loud, it could get rough in some spots. I saw one radar projection that had a massive purple storm right over Pike County, Mississippi. I'm excited. I don't know about you. You know, just your air is out. My everything could be out. Stranger things have happened.

SPEAKER_3 (3:04)

Thankfully, it looks like it's going to be nasty and then get on out of here.

Dave Hughes (3:09)

That's the good thing. My question is, why do we have storms coming from all directions this year? So far in the month of September, today is the 10th. In the month of September, we have had storms come through that went from the east to the west, from the north to the south, from the south to the north.

Whatever happened to France just coming along and pushing storms from the west to the east?

SPEAKER_3 (3:35)

It's got to be the old Nino.

Dave Hughes (3:37)

That's it. The Nino is still causing problems. It is the worst Nino in the history of Ninos, including, according to some news outlets all the way back when they didn't have a name for it yet, it was still not as bad as it is now. The cavemen never saw an El Nino this bad.

In all of history, it's never been this bad. Today, of course, the anniversary of the... And I'm going back and forth in my head, and I've seen a lot of different words used. Charlie Kirk got killed a year ago today.

He was murdered. That's just blatantly obvious. I think that's the weakest word you can use. A lot of people are using assassinated, which kind of is true, but for some reason, it doesn't feel exactly correct. I mean, he was aimlessly murdered.

SPEAKER_3 (4:35)

Yes.

Dave Hughes (4:36)

Assassinated to me is one of those words that goes into play when you're dealing with an elected official or somebody like that.

SPEAKER_3 (4:45)

I think it depends on which dictionary defines it, because I'm fairly certain there is at least one dictionary out there that defines it just as public figure.

Dave Hughes (4:55)

Yeah.

SPEAKER_3 (4:56)

Which he was obviously a public figure.
