Good morning, everyone, and welcome to MidDays, SuperTalk Mississippi. I'm your host, Gerard Gibert, along with Rhino in the Alamant Weld Studio, guiding you through the middle of your day with facts, fodder, and fine music on this hump day. All right, and it's a bit of a warm one out there, but it is a July in the great state of Mississippi, so that is fully expected. Well, the big news, I think, overnight is that the hostilities continue in the Middle East with respect to Iran. Fresh round of attacks by the Iran regime, and then of course, retaliation from the United States. The president says that the ceasefire is essentially over. He says he'll hit Iran hard for the second straight night, that would be tonight. He threatens to take over Karg Island. He says the deal is off, and referred to the regime of Tehran as, quote, scum.
So of course, you got to look at the reaction that drives on the markets, and with respect to oil, the Dow down 790 points. The 10-year yield, that's the Treasury security that is connected to mortgage rates, any sort of long-term kind of loans, long-term being beyond a year, auto loans, etc.
So that yield is up above 4.5 percent. The NASDAQ also in negative territory, 250 points. And crude oil, spiking this morning over $5 a barrel, now approaching $79 a barrel. So that doesn't give you a great feeling about what might happen to the price at the pump. Because it's just started to retreat, given that the flow of oil was resumed through the strait. But now it looks like that's in jeopardy. So we'll just have to see. I'm still feeling like the president is going to have to take some fairly drastic action here to resolve this thing. I have said before I think it might require a ground invasion. I certainly accept that that is not popular with the American people. We've already lost 13 brave members of our US military in this conflict. Don't want to lose any more. And of course, anytime you've got a ground invasion, that risk is increased. But it might be the only way, honestly, to take out this regime, and of course, capture, extract the enriched uranium. They're not going to give it up voluntarily. It does not appear.
And as the president has pointed out, you, Rhino, have pointed out numerous times, it is expected, encouraged, that they just lie and engage in blatant duplicity, deception, and that's what they're doing. And the president points that out. You can tell he is visibly frustrated with the situation because he's expecting reasonable people on the other side. But these are not reasonable people. They seemingly have no regard for human life.
And it does make you think about the influx of these sorts of people, people that adhere to and are acolytes of their doctrine, that have invaded this country in a big way. Man, we're already seeing the hell that that has caused, honestly, in the UK and in France. It's out of control. It's crazy stuff going on there. And that's because they thought they were being virtuous by just opening up their borders and welcoming these people in with open arms.
I can't tell you the number of people that I've heard from here over the last year, including my own wife, who accompanied a group on a trip to Europe last year, and she let me know, she texted me while she was in London, said, this doesn't even look like England. You've heard this, too, right, from people who have been on the ground from this country, expecting to find what we all sort of perceive to be and what we've seen portrayed as jolly old England. It ain't like that anymore.
So there's this nonsensical view that somehow diversity achieves strength. The problem is, when it's forced, which is what they essentially did, which is what the left in this country also engages in, it's forced diversity, it's forced inclusion, that doesn't produce jack squat of value. In fact, I submit, it produces harm. It's damaging, it's destructive. But they embraced it, and we have people in this country doing the same, yet I'm still being admonished by these nutcases that take exception to my statement on my social media about the contrast and perhaps the choice in the midterms between the Declaration of Independence and the Communist Manifesto, and they just dismiss that. You don't understand the Democratic Party. You don't know the difference between socialism and communism. Yeah, I do. That's why I made the statement. But these are people that have earned nominations, who have a history...
