It's actually my last day. We pranked you guys, what, two and a half months ago that I was actually leaving, and then I came back for the summer. But now I'm actually leaving and I'm not coming back.

I know. It's her last. So she is the first intern that we've had on our team to do a back-to-back season. So she did spring and then immediately did summer right afterwards.

I was gone for like two weeks.

So it's continuous. Yeah. So you've been here a good time with us. So when you guys see us do, and we'll get to the story here in just a minute, but when you guys see like assets on the screen and things pop up and video and the edited podcast, honestly, she's done everything in the department and she's really good at it. It's a trophy for me. So thank you again, Lauren. But if you're just joining us now, we're gonna go through a variety of stories today. Obviously, the biggest story of the day being Luigi Mangione pleading guilty in his federal case. He's pled guilty to stalking and the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson.
Very stunning move.

Came out of left field, absolutely.
If you don't recall everything that happened, I feel like there's been so much legally that's happened in the last, since this actually happened. But if you recall that day when this came out that Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was shot in the back by a masked man, it was viral. It was huge, you know, it was probably one of the biggest things of your generation, of anything.

I agree. And then when they found him at McDonald's, that was crazy. They really tracked him down.

**Branson Quirke** (2:53)

But now he's saying he's guilty. So that's the craziest part.

**Branson Quirke** (2:57)
And Mangione spoke to the judge saying, quote, after years of enduring pain from a broken back, I shot Mr. Thompson and he died. I knew what I was doing was illegal. His lawyer, Karen Agnifilo said during a news conference, he endured years of severe debilitating pain following a broken back while struggling to navigate our health care system and health insurance systems.
Also adding, quote, he believed that the system had failed him and destroyed his life. His lawyer, Agnifilo, is previewing what she will argue before the judge when it comes time to sentencing, that Luigi was so overwrought with pain and anger, he was not fully in his right mind when he fired the shots that killed Brian Thompson. Mangione also said that he tracked Thompson to a UnitedHealthcare conference, where he posed as an investor to get more info on who was intending. He said he used a gun he printed on a 3D printer and affixed it with a silencer. That is shocking. He printed this gun, he says.
