All right. So we are back to discuss Love Is Blind, and the lawsuits involving Love Is Blind.
I'm kind of a Shakespeare nerd. Can you guess the three plays that Shakespeare wrote that have Love Is Blind, either specifically or referenced in there, the phrase Love Is Blind?

**Cesie** (1:42)
I can maybe try and name the Shakespeare plays I can remember at this moment.

**Angela** (1:46)
They're pretty memorable ones, so you have a good chance of guessing at least one of them, right?

**Cesie** (1:51)
Sharon's favorite Shakespeare play is The Tempest.

**Angela** (1:55)
That's a good one.

**Cesie** (1:55)
That's the only reason I know it, is because it's her favorite play, Macbeth. That doesn't seem like it has love in it, though.

No.

**Cesie** (2:02)
Well, Romeo and Juliet.

**Angela** (2:04)
There you go. That's one. The quote from Romeo and Juliet is, If love be blind, love cannot hit the mark, which I think is actually more apt for the Love Is Blind TV show.

**Cesie** (2:15)
Yeah. I know it's a common phrase, but I was going to ask if maybe they had some inspiration from Shakespeare, but I would guess not if they're trying to go with the fact that love is blind.

**Angela** (2:24)
I always assumed they did, and I assumed that it was from A Midsummer Night's Dream, which, oh, so the first one is Romeo and Juliet. If love be blind, love cannot hit the mark. A Midsummer Night's Dream, it is, love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, and therefore is winged Cupid doth blind. That's what I always thought. Love comes through the mind and not the heart, so Cupid's blind. The third one is from The Merchant of Venice. It says, but love is blind and lovers cannot see the pretty follies that they themselves commit. Actually, that one is appropriate, but the Romeo and Juliet one, obviously that play ends in horrific tragedy.
The quote, if love be blind, love cannot hit the mark, seems very appropriate for the Love Is Blind TV show.

Yes. I think love can be blind. I don't think initial attraction can be blind, so I think that's where they've faltered.

**Angela** (3:19)
For listeners that have never watched Love Is Blind, how would you describe the show?

**Cesie** (3:23)
Well, I do feel like some reality television shows are social experiments in and of themselves, and I would argue that this is probably at the top of that list, and they are trying to prove that love is blind by placing men and women separately in individual pods where they speed date, they whittle down their top choices, and they continue speed dating in these pods where they cannot see each other. They ask questions about personalities, they ask questions about family, they're not allowed to ask questions about how someone looks.

Who was that guy? It was like, do you think I could lift you?

That reminded me of the Michael Scott in the office where he's like, could she fit in a rowboat?

**Cesie** (4:06)
It's so messed up, but yeah. Or people will be like, what ethnicity are you? Are they allowed to ask that? I can't remember. I think they kind of figured out somehow.
