Hey, everybody, it is Friday, August 28th. You've made it through another week with us at the Monews podcast. I'm Moshe Oinounou.

**Jill Wagner** (0:10)
And I'm Jill Wagner. This is the place where we bring you just the facts.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (0:15)
And where we read all the news and read between the lines so you don't have to. Jill, it's gonna be September next week.

**Jill Wagner** (0:20)
Do you remember? Yes, it is gonna be September, all days, including the 21st. That's the song, right?

**Mosheh Oinounou** (0:28)
That's what the song says.
That was actually Alex's due date for Olivia, and she went to labor on the 21st, but Olivia would come on the 22nd. But there was a part of me wishing that Olivia would make the song ring true and come on the 21st night of September.

**Jill Wagner** (0:44)
But then you're stuck with that song forever.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (0:47)
I mean, it's still being played at her bot mitzvah one day and maybe her wedding. Maybe that'll be her song. It is sort of a cool theme song for those born on the 21st night of September.

**Jill Wagner** (0:55)
Yes, and with that, we are cruising again toward my favorite season, fall. But I don't want to rush summer.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (1:02)
No, you don't want to rush summer, but like Taylor Swift once said, August slipped away into a moment in time. She's got a couple days left.

**Jill Wagner** (1:09)
All right, to the headlines now.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (1:11)
Look at me, drop the T. Swift lyrics instead of you, Jill. I'm proud of that one.

**Jill Wagner** (1:14)
I have a Seinfeld reference coming up though. So I'm not totally off brand here. All right, starting with the Lindsay Clancy murder trial. The jury is now deliberating. We'll break down the closing arguments and the prosecution and the defense, what the jury actually has to decide, including the makeup of that jury.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (1:33)
Yeah, this is going to be fascinating to see how this unfolds, how long this potentially takes here. We give you a little background on the case and what to look for with potential verdicts here.

**Jill Wagner** (1:42)
An update on the devastating flash flooding at the border between Nepal and Tibet.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (1:48)
The death toll continues to grow. Hundreds of people still missing. We'll tell you about nearly 90 Americans right now still unaccounted for.

**Jill Wagner** (1:55)
Nearly 25 years after the attacks on September 11th, 2001, the alleged mastermind of the attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, now has a trial date.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (2:05)
We'll tell you what has taken so long. More than two decades removed from the attack.

**Jill Wagner** (2:09)
To the trade war with Canada, President Trump has officially renamed Lake Ontario, Lake America.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (2:16)
Naturally, we have the Gulf of America, Lake America. We'll tell you what he thinks will come next, seriously.

**Jill Wagner** (2:22)
Retirees not just heading to Del Boca Vista, Delaware has become the new Florida for retirees.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (2:28)
There's your Seinfeld reference. The only retiree I can think of in Delaware is former President Biden.
But we'll tell you more about why retirees are headed to Delaware, which also takes me to another favorite movie quote from Wayne's World. I'll bring that to you later in the podcast.

**Jill Wagner** (2:46)
And a lighter education story going viral, a gas station for farts. We'll explain.

**Mosheh Oinounou** (2:55)
I'll tell you about one teacher's creative plan for, we call them in our house, pootskies.

**Jill Wagner** (3:02)
I didn't know if you knew I put this in the podcast, so I'm happy that you're not canceling it. Oh, I saw it and I'm excited to talk further about it.
And it is Friday. Cheers to the freaking weekend, what we're watching Reading and Eating.
All right, starting with the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial in Massachusetts, we are now awaiting a verdict in the case. The jury began its first full day of deliberations today.
And a warning, the details of this story include suicide, depression and violence. So if any of these subjects are upsetting to you, if there are kids in the car, please fast forward. As some background here, 36-year-old Lindsay Clancy is facing first degree murder charges for killing her three children in January of 2023 She has admitted to the killings, but her defense says that she was overmedicated and suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time and that she shouldn't be held criminally responsible. Postpartum psychosis is a rare, severe mental health emergency. It occurs suddenly in the days or weeks after childbirth and causes a significant break from reality.
