The beloved anthology series returns with its fourth and wildest installment yet, Monster. The Lizzie Borden story tells the story of how one young woman changed what the world believed a killer could be. All it took was an axe. When the repressed daughter and her rebellious maid find themselves trapped in a house built on cruelty, they channel their rage as a way to escape. The gruesome unsolved murders don't just shock the world. They give birth to an icon who refuses to live imprisoned in a cage, choosing instead to forge her own legend. Shocking, monstrous, and gloriously free. Watch Monster, The Lizzie Borden Story, only on Netflix September 17th.

Hello, and welcome to Positively Legal. I'm Mark Eiglarsh, one of your co-hosts. And my bio seems to indicate that I'm a former prosecutor. I'm a veteran criminal defense attorney.
SPEAKER_2 (1:17)
What else?
Mark Eiglarsh (1:18)
I'm an author.
I'm a... Yeah, Jonna, stop the mocking. I am an adjunct law professor. I do play pickleball from time to time. And those are just some of my many good traits. And you, Jonna, who the heck are you?
Jonna Spilbor (1:32)
Who are you?
Mark Eiglarsh (1:33)
Tell us about you.
Jonna Spilbor (1:34)
I'm easy. Well.
SPEAKER_2 (1:36)
Well, that's what we've heard.
SPEAKER_5 (1:37)
But not cheap.
Jonna Spilbor (1:39)
I'm Jonna Spilbor, criminal defense attorney and founder of Jonna Spilbor Law.
SPEAKER_6 (1:46)
How'd you come up with that name?
Jonna Spilbor (1:47)
I know. It was very difficult. We had to put stuff in a hat and pick one out.
I am fired up because the Lindsay Clancy jurors won't stop talking. Every time their lips are moving, I think they insert a foot into their mouth. We will share the latest revelations from inside the deliberation room and new details about the lone holdout who I am falling more in love with every day.
Mark Eiglarsh (2:16)
Well, then folks, you're going to want to stick around to what I have to say. Okay, it looks like we're going to have different ends of the spectrum on that.
Now, regarding this guy, Matthew Exton, an attorney who pulled a gun out in the middle of a restaurant and tried to kill his ex-wife. Oh, my goodness, the footage on this guy is bizarre. You've got to see this. We're going to bring you all the highlights on that case.
Jonna Spilbor (2:45)
Yes, we will. But first, Mark, you know what time it is.
Mark Eiglarsh (2:50)
I know it. Just say it, Jonna. Just say it.
SPEAKER_8 (2:52)
Say it already.
Jonna Spilbor (2:53)
It's happy hour.
SPEAKER_8 (2:54)
It's happy hour.
Mark Eiglarsh (2:54)
All right. Do you have something to drink? You never have anything to drink. I'm always stuck drinking alone. What do you got?
Jonna Spilbor (3:00)
You're drinking water alone. You're right.
Mark Eiglarsh (3:02)
Well, that's my drink. That's my drink.
Jonna Spilbor (3:04)
I could be hiding a martini in this paper cup, but I am not.
Mark Eiglarsh (3:10)
Okay. So what do you feel like talking about? What's going on?
SPEAKER_9 (3:13)
How are you doing, Jonna?
Mark Eiglarsh (3:14)
Tell us something we don't know.
Jonna Spilbor (3:16)
I was hoping that you had something good, but I don't want to be honest with you, Mark. I am. Now, you probably can't tell. I am a little under the weather today.
Mark Eiglarsh (3:25)
Are you?
Jonna Spilbor (3:26)
Yes. Oh, my goodness.
Mark Eiglarsh (3:27)
Thank you so much for showing up in your condition.
Jonna Spilbor (3:30)
Well, it's so funny. It's so funny that you say that, because I was thinking to myself, so I've been under the weather for, I don't know, a few days. It's nothing major, you know, kind of sinus, blah, blah, allergies. Okay. So I said to myself, you know, when I get under the weather, I really like to power through, and I was teasing our producer before the show. I'm like, usually when I get sick, the first place I run is not to the doctor for like an antibiotic. No, no, no, no, no, no. I run to the plastic surgeon and get some more Botox because I just want to look better than I feel. I haven't done that yet. I haven't done that yet.
