We won't talk about that. So there's a new report out about Jay-Z ultimately just picking himself to be the Super Bowl halftime performer.

Really sad, jarring news to wake up to. She dropped a podcast. She had taken a break from her podcast for a while and revealed that I guess she does not have MS and that she was misdiagnosed. The quarterback of the Eagles was diagnosed with blood clots, still played the game in London, returned home. And now he is out for probably the rest of the season, it looks like. Potentially.

I still have him on my roster, but I think I need to drop him.

OK, it's fun, but it's just like annoying because he's reported to do the halftime show here in LA this season. And everyone was always talking about that. The frontrunners were going to be like Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus.

But he picked himself. And back in 2019, he made a deal to take over to do the halftime show, to like put together.

So basically there's this report from Puck News who they're usually pretty legit.

We've obviously been working on this story. We have a lot of people close that are involved. No one's really saying anything, which did make me think that the Puck News basically lays out that for weeks, they've been trying to figure out who they were going to have to do the halftime show. That's why they haven't announced it. And ultimately, they're saying, he just said, I'm the best choice this year. Yeah. So I'm just going to do it.

Because people were giving Justin Bieber hate after the World Cup performance, because he did a slow guitar.

Deven (2:47)

And the Coachella performance, which I loved for the record.

All right. And then Miley Cyrus. Hers was, she just had two big shows at Hollywood Bowl.

The reports with Miley Cyrus were that her album didn't do very well.

Yeah, it debuted at number one, then dropped.

Like, oh, she's not as popular as she once was.

And then Jay-Z obviously had the three days at the Yankee Stadium in New York, which was insane. Crowds were wild. Day three got delayed, I think, until like 12 a.m. Because everyone was trying to break into it.

So why do you not want Jay-Z to do it?

Courtney (3:22)

Because it just feels weird that he picked himself.

It just feels weird. And it's like, you're in that position to bring other artists in. And now you're just like, oh, I'm the best one this year.

So we reached out to Rock Nation about the report. They haven't responded, which make... I mean, they are being very secretive about this.

I'm leaning towards believing this report. I think there is something to this. Also, Jay-Z has shows at SoFi over the weekend.

So that'd be probably a great time to announce that you're doing the Super Bowl halftime in the arena that the Super Bowl is being played in.
