All right, everybody, between daily podcast recordings, managing Mo News, workouts, life with a newborn and a toddler, I have learned that drinking water isn't always enough. When I'm dragging, dealing with brain fog, or feel a headache coming on, sometimes what I really need is electrolytes. That is why we have partnered for a long time with Element Electrolyte Powder. Each pack delivers a meaningful dose of electrolytes with zero sugar, no artificial colors, and none of the dodgy ingredients found in many popular sports drinks. My go-to flavors are lemonade and grapefruit salt, though they have a whole variety available for all of you. And right now, Mo News listeners can get a free eight-count sample pack of Element's most popular drink mix flavors, so you can figure out which one is your favorite. They also have a flavorless pack, by the way. You can find that all over at drinklmnt.com/monews. That is drinklmnt.com/monews.

drinklmnt.com/monews. We've heard from so many of you who have made this a regular part of your life. Let us know about your element of experience and your favorite flavor. This will change the way you think about hydration. Again, go out and get that special Mo News deal over at drinklmnt.com/monews.

Hey, everybody. It is Thursday, October 1st, new month. Same podcast. You're listening to the Mo News podcast. I'm Mosheh Oinounou.

Jill Wagner (1:19)

And I'm Jill Wagner. This is the place where we bring you just the facts.

Mosheh Oinounou (1:23)

And we read all the news and read between the lines so you don't have to.

As you might be able to hear in my voice, I have a little bit of a cold. So we're going to keep the small talk at the top. Very brief, Jill.

Jill Wagner (1:35)

Well, when we wrapped up the podcast yesterday, Mosheh, you said, Jill, you might be solo tomorrow. I could just tell. I know myself. My voice is getting raspy. Sure enough, it's exactly what happened, although we appreciate that you're going to give it a go.

Mosheh Oinounou (1:51)

Yes, I am here for now. Talk to me in 30 minutes, midway through the speed read.

Jill Wagner (1:57)

And we need you to get better, Mosheh, because later today on Thursday, once again, we are going to try recording this podcast live over on our YouTube page. So it'll stream live. Basically, you're getting the first look at the next day, Friday's podcast.

OK, and Mosheh is giving me a big thumbs up for anyone who can't see it. All right, let's get to the headlines. Terror in the Sky, the attempted hijacking of a plane headed to Israel. In this case, it was the co-pilot accused of trying to crash the plane. What we know about the attacker and the hero passengers who stormed the cockpit to stop that potential attack.

Mosheh Oinounou (2:35)

This split-second decision that saved so many lives, including what the captain was able to do, even after he was stabbed by his co-pilot.

Jill Wagner (2:42)

To the Cornell gang rape investigation, some new reporting about what the Jane Doe told Cornell police shortly after the incident and the case shining a spotlight on sexual assaults on college campuses. At Cornell, one in three undergraduate women say that they have been sexually assaulted. Mosheh, that number, a shocking, at least to me. To the war in Iran, the Strait of Hormuz is still closed, or is it? The amounts of oil getting through the Strait has rebounded, but gas prices still not coming down, at least not yet. Plus, where things stand when it comes to negotiations on another ceasefire, and the UK Prime Minister saying Wednesday that there are strong indications Iran had a role in a bomb plot at an airbase in England that was used by the US to strike Iran, the details there.

The largest ever gift to any college, Hedge Fund executive Ken Griffin gives $3 billion to Carnegie Mellon, why he chose that school over his own alma mater, Harvard.

Mosheh Oinounou (3:43)

And what he's trying to do in Miami as you really invest on there.

Jill Wagner (3:48)

And you are no longer invited to dinner. Fewer people are hosting other people at their homes. What is behind the numbers? Plus, Mosheh, if he can make it to the end of this podcast, will have on this day in history.

He just gave me a nod.

Starting with the attempted hijacking of a plane headed to Israel by a pilot inside the cockpit, that fly Dubai flight was traveling from the UAE to Israel Wednesday morning with about 174 people on board, mostly Israeli, including 27 children. That plane was able to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. All of the passengers are okay. They are back in Israel.
