He turned $80,000 into $1.2 Million on one trade. CEO and Founder of Kaizen, Brian Jung joins Jennifer Sanasie on Markets Outlook. Discover how Jung turned an $80,000 bet on CASHCAT into a million-dollar trade by spotting the Robinhood Chain opportunity before the rest of the market.
I decided to just size in roughly about $80,000, which is appropriate at the time, and that ended up turning into, at the peak, or at about 100 mil market cap for CashCat, it was at $1.25 million. Had I held it and not sold, but I followed my exit strategy, so this is something else that goes into my systems. It's not always just the entry, it's also the exit. This would have been worth multi, multi seven figures, but I'm still happy with the way the trade turned out.

Hi Jen, I'm glad to be back here. I'm glad to have you here. A lot's been going on on social media, so I just want to start here. You made more than a million dollars on CashCat, so congratulations. Thank you. Talk to me about the trade. This was my first on-chain trade that I made since the start of this year.
And I have a particular way that I look for setups. I don't like trenching. I don't like competing against these kids who are constantly just...
They do a good job just being on on-chain, but I decided to just continue my research, my process, and I saw something that fit my parameters. This was everything with Robinhood Chain, and when it came up, I just decided to execute on it. Talk to me a little bit about how you set your parameters. You seem like a really disciplined trader. We don't often hear that in crypto. I know that there are many disciplined traders in crypto, but we often hear the really crazy Degen stories. Just talk to me about how you set your parameters and how you stay level-headed through all of this. Yeah, well, I only got to where I'm at today after making a bunch of mistakes, right? That's how I really learn. It's not from obviously just reading books or reading articles or just absorbing alpha as people would. I have to actually go through and live through those experiences for me to be where I'm at today. So in terms of just frameworks for me, I look at just where the broader market starts.
Are we in a risk on market?
Right now, we're seeing some pockets of that, but we're still not in that full risk on altcoin cycle where everything is, what I call easy mode is what I share to my audience. Right now, things are still a bit more isolated, so you have to be more conservative. Usually on a play like this where I have higher conviction, I would have sized in a lot more. But this was actually appropriate for the current market cycle that we're in right now.
My framework is pretty simple, actually.
I will look for pretty much pockets where the market is not pricing in opportunities. So in the past few weeks, we saw a creator coin called Ansem picking up, and a lot of people were rotating to that. People in the trenches, on chain, and then people who weren't really in crypto in the last year who have been offline, they were starting to get into it. So when I saw that, a lot of liquidity and volume was flowing in that one direction. I like looking at where is it not going? Where is price not being calculated into next? And I've been paying attention to Robinhood a lot.
The Coinbase team flew me out to New York City for their product launch off their earnings call about a few weeks ago. I was in New York. I had a chance to meet Brian Armstrong and the rest of their executive team.
But a lot of people in crypto don't realize this, but Coinbase and Robinhood, they are strong competitors.
So in me doing a lot more research on Coinbase, seeing all the things that they're publishing, you can't help but neglect what Robinhood has also been doing. So Robinhood actually a few weeks after that product launch, they came out this whole demo that was doing super well. It was called the World is Flat Campaign. A lot of people in crypto, I just don't think want to pay attention to anything that feels a bit more trad-fi, but that's what I like to do. I like to build an edge in different markets. And when I saw that Robinhood was posting this, I paid attention to, okay, what was the key themes? What were the messaging? And what was really interesting to me was that they're releasing a layer two. Nobody, it seemed like, was really paying attention to this at the time. Or even if they did, they weren't really looking at the exposure plays. I think that's because the Creator Token was doing super well. I also think it's because we're near or close to the bottom. We can talk about that later.
