I feel like my relationship with money has changed a lot as I've gotten older. It mostly used to be about, am I paying my bills and putting some money away? Now there are so many moving pieces and competing priorities, so I wanna feel like I know exactly where I stand, not just hope that everything's okay. So that's what I like about Monarch. Having our accounts, investments, savings goals, and spending all in one place, it gives me a much clearer picture. There have definitely been months where I've looked at our spending breakdown and thought, wait, we spent that much on that? Seeing it all laid out makes those patterns really obvious. I also love Monarch's AI Assistant. I can just ask questions about my finances instead of digging through transactions myself. It definitely takes some of the mental load out of managing money and helps me feel like we actually know where we stand. So write your own money story with Monarch. Use the code MONEWS at monarch.com to get your first year of Monarch Core half off at just $50.

That is 50% off your first year at monarch.com code MONEWS.

All right, everybody, a little behind the scenes here. We're recording this podcast from our Industrious offices in New York City. It has been an amazing setup for more than a year now because Industrious takes care of the workplace so we can focus on bringing you the news.

Jill Wagner (1:17)

That's right. So the main Mo News office is in an Industrious location in Manhattan, and we've also turned a room down the hall into the podcast studio, Moshe, where you and I record the show. And if we ever need a meeting room, somewhere quiet to work, or just a change of scenery, it's all right here.

Mosheh Oinounou (1:33)

Yeah, and I have to mention the snacks. They got breakfast in the morning often, snacks all day long, coffee, soft drinks. Among the advantages here to working out of an Industrious, they have more than 200 locations. So we have our main base here, but we will use an Industrious when we're traveling around the country. And if you've been looking for a better place to work, whether it's for a day, to have a meeting, to get outside the house, or your business is building up over time, but you're not ready to rent a whole office space, then Industrious is for you.

Jill Wagner (1:59)

And we've got a special offer for Mo News listeners. First time day pass users can get 50% off at mo.news.industrious. Check out the space for yourself at mo.news.industrious. That's 50% off your first day pass.

Come be our neighbor. Check it out.

Hey, everybody. It is Friday, October 9th. You're listening to the Mo News podcast. I'm Moshe Oinounou.

Jill Wagner (2:24)

And I am Jill Wagner. This is the place where we bring you just the facts.

Mosheh Oinounou (2:29)

And we read all the news and read between the lines so you don't have to as we head into a holiday weekend here in the US. Columbus Day, Indigenous Peoples Day, wherever you may be. Your state might call it both things. One thing, but for many parents, it means a three-day weekend because no school on Monday for the kiddos.

Jill Wagner (2:47)

For better or worse. Okay.

Wanted to mention, there is a surprising new study out for all you dog people out there. And it found that people who sleep near their dogs actually do not experience disrupted sleep. If anything, the researchers found humans are the ones disturbing our dogs' sleep.

Mosheh Oinounou (3:11)

So the joke online is like, did the dogs write this study? Did they design this study? Because it's like, what do you mean we disturb them? They don't disturb us. I'm waiting for the next day to come out, Jill, from toddlers being like, the toddlers don't wake up their parents when they fall asleep in your bed. It's you waking the toddlers up.

Jill Wagner (3:30)

There's this great video, a few influencer, a few people have done it on social media where they take their dog in the bed with the covers up to their chin, nestled on the pillow, maybe they're filing their nails, and they say to the dog something like, did you know 200 years ago you would have been sleeping outside and been looking for your own food? The dog's just like, hmm?

Mosheh Oinounou (3:54)

We should note, by the way, this study at University of Toronto exclusively worked with huskies and malamutes with no health problems. There are many breeds out there. By the way, I used to have a husky growing up. I don't believe this one bit, but I don't know.
