Hey everybody, welcome to The TMZ Podcast. My name is Tony, filling in for Branson, and actually Deven today. We are a one man show today. I'm gonna do my best to inform you guys of all the stories we have today. We have some major news breaking in the studio. So thank you for joining me today. We got some pretty interesting stories, I would say.
First one being what you've seen on the thumbnail, Hunter Biden and Don Jr cage match?
This is a very interesting story, wait till we get into it. Angelina Jolie is actually breaking her silence on her opening up about her divorce from Brad Pitt. She did a interview with Variety and opened up a bunch of stuff. So we're gonna get into the details of that. And we're gonna end with what else? New York, New York. That's my best Frank Sinatra impression, bear with me. But they have the parade going on and New York is the place to be right now. Like we're gonna talk all about the parade and the next going to the White House. We'll get on to it. How are you guys doing today? I'm gonna read a couple of your comments before we get into it. What's up, Danny? And what is up, Brandon? Thank you guys for joining me today. First off, let's get into Hunter Biden and Don Jr cage match. So to give you guys the scoop, Hunter Biden, he's criticizing Joe Rogan because Joe Rogan did a podcast recently. He told critics to shut the F up. Not everything needs to become political when it comes to this UFC Freedom 250 cage match, which we had over the weekend. I did not personally watch it. I watched the highlights of it. If I'm being honest, my Paramount Plus subscription ran out and I didn't want to renew it just for this. Bear with me there. I called the highlights and from what I've seen, it was a pretty successful event. It was a pretty hype event. Seven fights, seven knockouts. What was your guys' thoughts on it? So, Joe Rogan had everything to say about that, saying to critics, shut the F up. And Hunter Biden, he fired back. So I'm gonna show you guys what he had to say. And I'm pulling up the tweet right now. So, he says, dear Joe, I wish I could sit down with you face to face and explain why so many of us were offended by the UFC fight on the South Lawn of the White House. For me, it had nothing to do with the UFC or who showed up for the fights. The brand you and Dana have built is a bona fide more power to you. As for the fighters in my book, anyone brave enough to put it all on the line in the arena is remarkable to witness their dedication and discipline inspire me. My problem is, I believe some of our public spaces are sacred. The White House does not belong to Donald Trump. It does not belong to any president. It belongs to the people. To treat it as Caesar treated the Colosseum is antithetical to everything our founding fathers fought for. This is not Rome. Then I'm going to skip down because it's a lot of text. He's saying that was obviously Donald Trump's whole point by holding the event on the South Lawn. What he was saying to the rest of us is, this is my house. I own it. I will do with it what I please. The fights were an exhibition of imperial domination, not a celebration of our 250th anniversary as a democracy.
And he ends off saying, PS, cage match between me and John Jr. Your call on the venue anywhere but the South Lawn.
All right, a lot to unpack there. So, as far as the backlash for the White House, I see what Joe Rogan is saying. This is just a sporting event to just be enjoyed and nothing more than that.
And not everything has to be political. And he's right. It was a very successful event, but Hunter Biden is saying that it's sort of given Rome Coliseum-esque vibes. You know, I mean, like I said, I'm pretty split down the middle. I'm more leaning to like, hey, let's just appreciate the event as itself.
