I literally had no choice. I tried everything as a vegan, and at this point, I was going on almost 10 years. You know, my thirties were wiped out. So phase one is when your body bags up the trash. Phase two is when it throws the trash out.
If you do phase one, and you're getting those toxins ready, and you can't dump them out, where do you think they go? Really?
We're learning more about Ben Greenfield.

My name is Ben Greenfield.
Welcome to the show.
Hey, what's up, you guys? Sorry for the slightly echoey audio quality, but I'm on the road, and I wanted to give you a quick introduction to what you're about to hear on this podcast. I was able to connect with a bestselling author, motivational speaker, and holistic health practitioner, who's also a nutritional consultant with a very unique flavor of nutritional consulting. Her name is Monica Hershaft. Her story is amazing. She's one of the top holistic nutrition experts in the nation, and there is a video that accompanies this show that you might also find useful because she demonstrates a lot of the so-called kinesiology type muscle testing that she does during this show. So basically, I went down to Phoenix, I saw her, we had a great interview, and that is what you are about to experience.
Hey, I want to tell you something. I am actually going to be in San Diego in May of 2022, speaking at the Personal Peak Performance Summit, the PP Summit, the PPP Summit.
Anyways, you can get a VIP pass to attend. It's gonna be super cool. It is a summit at Pacific College all around, you guessed it, peak performance. Paul Chek's gonna be there. My podcast sidekick, Dr. J. Wiles, is gonna be there.
Endurance author Alex Hutchinson is gonna be there. Should be pretty cool. There's an exhibit hall that's open to everybody. You can also get a VIP pass to get in on all of the goodness.
I will put the URL in the show notes.
You can also find it at bengreenfieldfitness.com/calendar, where everywhere I'm speaking is listed. But this one's in San Diego in May, so check it out. It's called the Personal Peak Performance Summit at Pacific College in San Diego, May 20th through the 22nd. Anyway, so what else? The whole health and fitness world is talking about glucose these days, and for good reason. Poor glucose control is now tied to weight gain and fatigue and sexual dysfunction. A lot of guys don't realize that. Poor glucose control can be directly correlated to your ability to get it up. Diabetes, Alzheimer's, heart disease, stroke, a whole lot more. But you can actually track your glucose in real time with this company called Levels. So you get a Levels membership. They give you access to continued glucose monitoring, at-home blood testing, expert coaching. You don't have to have a diabetes-diagnosed to use this. Anybody can use it. Anybody who just wants to go from good to great, even healthy people who want to get more metabolically healthy can use this. I slap it on all the time. I can get details about how my body responds to different workouts, different foods, cold baths, heat, you name it. And what's cool is they've worked into their app, the ability to run different experiments, like how's my body respond to oatmeal versus cookies? How's my body respond to sauna versus cold pool?
And basically, you just learn all these amazing things about your body, and then you make little changes throughout the day as you go. Like I found out that green beans, of all things, spike my blood glucose. Who would have known? But now I can skip the green beans with dinner and eat something else that's stable for my blood glucose, like sweet potatoes. Don't spike my blood glucose much at all. It's crazy. These are things I wouldn't know, though, unless I'd use this Levels Blood Glucose Monitor. So anyways, they're running this closed beta program. They got a wait list of like 150,000 people, but they're giving my listeners the ability to become a member of their private beta. Their private beta, you can get straight off the wait list. Here's how. Go to levels.link slash Ben, levels.link slash Ben, and you too now can wear one of these sexy, continuous blood glucose monitors and know your glucose in real time. This podcast is also brought to you by Magnesium Breakthrough, all right? You know magnesium is really good for you. It's involved in over 300 different enzymatic reactions. It allows for deep restorative sleep. It relaxes things like nighttime cramps and daytime exercise cramps, blah, blah, blah. But the trick is, there's so many different forms of magnesium. So what Magnesium Breakthrough did is they just basically said, why not use them all?
