Coming up today on Mini Scroll, the good American pop-up drama, creators are feuding over and Hermès' toiletry bag and Kylie Jenner makes Victoria's Secret Fashion Show history.

Hi everyone. Welcome to Mini Scroll, the daily internet culture podcast. Bring you the biggest stories from social media, the creator economy and the digital space every Monday through Thursday and sometimes Fridays. I'm your host Lauren Meisner, the founder of the Australian youth digital media brand, Centennial World. Welcome back to Mini Scroll everyone. I hope you guys all had a good weekend. I had a busy weekend because update. This is the last week that we are recording Mini Scroll in this office. So I spent the weekend prepping our new studio space, and from next Monday, we will be recording in there and I have literally no idea how.

I have no idea how it's going to look, and I'm trying to do it as affordably as possible.

We're going to see how it goes. I feel like every time we move studios or offices, I'm like, don't worry, you guys. This is just temporary. This set up is just temporary. We'll figure it out properly down the line when we have more money or more time or whatever, and then you just fall into complacency. You're just like, you know what? This is fine. This is what Mini Scroll looks like now, whatever. So I really don't want that to happen again. I really want to be as set up for next Monday as possible, but we'll see. Anyways, before I get into it, please remember to rate, review and subscribe. Please Spotify, start rate us and review us on Apple and subscribe to us on YouTube. So many of you guys watch us on YouTube and don't subscribe. So please, please, please, please, please subscribe. All right, let's just get into the stories for today.

This is a pretty streamlined episode. Me jumping pretty quickly right into the stories without like a million things to tell you at the top. Okay. So the first story that I have for you guys today is I'm going to recap what happened at the Good American pop-up and all of the creator drama going down. So, Khloe Kardashian and Emma Greed's denim brand Good American is facing a backlash after influencers claimed that they were invited to an exclusive preview of its New York City pop-up store and they were not given the experience that they were promised. The controversy started after creators began posting TikToks over the weekend about their experiences at the event, which was held ahead of the pop-up opening to the public. So, according to screenshots of the invitation shared online, influencers were emailed in September and invited to visit the SoHo store on Wednesday for a quote exclusive preview and a first look at the collection before it opened to everyone else. Guests were asked to RSVP through a form and select a time slot to attend. All of this, as somebody who's in the industry, all of this is very, very normal to have a time slot that you go to a preview, to be seeing a preview, like doing some type of influencer media preview ahead of it opening to the public. All of that is very standard. I also want to know before I keep going, the creators who are talking about this, some of them are also saying that their management received these e-mails. Because I think people are going into this story, assuming it's like micro influencers that maybe don't understand the industry or feel like they should have been treated better or whatever. So there was a range of creators, bigger creators, smaller creators, creators with management who all received the same treatment and all felt like it was not up to par essentially. Creator management teams, their whole job is relationships with brands and publicists and dealing with invites and partnerships and all that kind of stuff. So the fact that creators who also, like this went through their management teams, they also had this experience. It tells you that this was the experience. It was not like micro influencers, not understanding the industry. Okay, so Given Good American is such a huge and buzzy brand. Obviously, Khloe Kardashian is so famous. Emma Greed is pretty famous herself now, and you guys know, I was a defender of Emma Greed's book. I like her podcast. I am slightly like toxic girl boss coded myself, and therefore, I resonate with a lot of her content, and I enjoy her content. So I'm just putting it out there. That is like where my bias stands with Emma Greed in general. So some creators who were invited traveled to this event, because obviously they're like, oh my God, like a Kardashian event.
