Coming up today on Mini Scroll, TikTok's new iced coffee at a job interview debate, Converse removes a controversial ad following online backlash, and did fans find Channing Tatum's burner account? Hi everyone, welcome to Mini Scroll. The daily internet culture podcasts bring you the biggest stories from social media, the creator economy and the digital space every Monday through Thursday and sometimes Fridays. I'm your host, Lauren Meisner, the founder of the Australian youth digital media brand Centennial World. Welcome back to Mini Scroll everyone. Happy Monday. I hope you guys all had a great weekend. Okay, very quickly before I start, I forgot to mention this last week, but we actually ended up changing our RSS feed from Infinite Scroll to Mini Scroll. So we did that, I think it was at the start of last week. And it was a decision that I'd been tossing up for, I don't know, maybe like a month. I think it wasn't too long.

But I had received a lot of feedback from just people in the industry, basically saying like, if Mini Scroll is kind of like the hero podcast now, it is outperforming most of our shows. Why don't you make that the hero feed? And then Infinite Scroll, when we do have deep dives, which obviously are a lot less frequent than they used to be because they are just like, so much work. We need so much work and so many resources to bring you guys deep dives. So obviously when we have like an Infinite Scroll episode, a deep dive, then that can still live on the feed. And obviously Mini Tech still lives on the Mini Scroll feed, but it's all under the same family. And yeah, so anyways, we officially changed the name of the hero feed to Mini Scroll. All right, before I get into it, please remember to rate, review and subscribe. Please Spotify star rate us. It helps us so much. It helps us grow. It helps us keep going and get sponsors and all that good stuff. Leave us a review on Apple and subscribe to us on YouTube and also subscribe to our RSS. And also follow us on TikTok, Mini Scroll Podcast.

Okay, let's get into the stories for today. The first story that I have for you guys today is we need to talk about the iced coffee out of job interview discourse. Oh my God, this is literally my whole feed right now. So a TikTok video is going viral about whether candidates should bring iced coffee to job interviews. So the video was posted on September 16th by at Caitlin Recruiter. She has 16 years of recruiting experience and says that she primarily places candidates at Fortune 500 companies.

She was saying in her video that more and more Gen Z candidates are showing up with iced coffees to job interviews. And she was explaining how that comes across in an interview setting.

SPEAKER_4 (3:28)

My Gen Z candidates are showing up to their interviews with iced coffee, iced latte in hand. And here's how I perceive that as a recruiter with 16 years of experience that deals with mostly Fortune 500 super button depth corporations, it is perceived from my opinion, my hiring standpoint, that when you show up with an iced coffee or an iced latte, that this interview is just like a stop on your list of errands for the day. It looks like you went to Target and you went to Starbucks, now you're stopping by your interview, then you're on to the next thing. It looks a little too casual to me.

And again, this is like your perception of how you're perceived in this 30 to 45 minutes that you have to interview. This is important.
