Malcolm Harris (0:27)
I am Malcolm Harris, of course, joined by the one and only Zach Strickland. Zach, hello, sir.
Zach Strickland (0:33)
Good day to you, sir. In my new fresh shirt that we, you know, you just saw, you just noticed.
Malcolm Harris (0:38)
Volunteer traditions has never looked so good.
Zach Strickland (0:41)
Man, you know, my daughter saw this shirt last weekend, so I had to come in and rep it on the show appropriately.
Malcolm Harris (0:46)
I love it. We're Tennessee Volunteers. We saw our Tennessee Vols take on the Auburn Tigers as well, so we wrote that.
Zach Strickland (0:52)
Skirted that one. Yeah. By the hair of our chinny chin chin.
Malcolm Harris (0:58)
The weather was supposed to be a torrential downpour. It was supposed to be a lot of rain.
Zach Strickland (1:03)
And it wasn't.
Malcolm Harris (1:03)
It wasn't.
Zach Strickland (1:04)
But, you know, we got another hurricane, apparently. Well, another, I should say, the first hurricane coming in, making landfall on the east side of the country.
Malcolm Harris (1:13)
You would be so proud of me on yesterday's episode. I was a meteorologist for the first time.
Zach Strickland (1:19)
Let's go.
Malcolm Harris (1:20)
I mean, my lifelong dream of talking about the weather came into fruition, and my mom was so happy. She was like, oh my god.
Just like that, by the way, ladies and gentlemen. But now, Isaias is currently in the Gulf and is transitioning to, what, a Category 2 storm?
Zach Strickland (1:37)
Category 2 may be a low-end Category 3 The models have not been great about figuring out how quickly these things accelerate.
Infrastructure-wise, we're going to talk about this a little bit later on Freightonomics as well, by the way. We got some sonar data to dive in, but the infrastructure is not a huge, it's not, you know, you got to have these hurricanes that hit like these big populations like Houston.
Malcolm Harris (2:02)
Absolutely.
Zach Strickland (2:02)
And New Orleans, not that we want that to happen, but that's normally what is the most disruptive and mobile, a decent-sized area, but not necessarily in the wake of a lot of huge like production centers.
Malcolm Harris (2:17)
No, no, it's not at all. I mean, it's going to be a crazy time. And just looking at the storm right now, it's headed directly to Mobile, to your point, which, you know, I've been to the... You ever been to the Port of Mobile before?
It is beautiful down there. The infrastructure, how they do things, like I was very impressed when I went down to Mobile.
Zach Strickland (2:37)
Well, they've got their stuff together, which is another reason why I'm not super concerned about this one. I think some flooding in the Deep South will probably be the biggest component of this store and all the football games that might get a little sloppy.
Malcolm Harris (2:53)
Yeah, potentially going to have a delay in one of the biggest games of the year. And yeah, we'll keep you guys posted, obviously, with our data from Sonar as well as weather optics to be able to give you guys the latest when it comes to not only the storm, but how it's going to impact supply chain. But let's talk about our guests today and who we have because we have an awesome show. Of course, Zach will have Freightonomics and it's going to be awesome, talking about not only in the storm, but trends, data, things of that nature. Then we're also going to have, of course, kicking off here in a moment is The Morning Minute. But our guest is going to be none other than I'm trying to get this name right as best as I can, Ilhan Kolko. So I'm going to try my very best again with Ilhan. I'm excited about the show. He is a manager director at Aviro36, excuse me, Aviro360.
I'm excited to speak with him again. He is the president and managing director. We're going to talk about how to obviously have yards to be continuous mobile inventory product and much more.
That conversation is going to be fantastic, as well as the rest of the show. It's going to be a good one here on FreightWaves Today. Let's kick it off with The Morning Minute.
Ilhan Kolko (4:10)
Let's see if we can get to it or not.
Malcolm Harris (4:13)
Which is an awesome segment. The Morning Minute is fantastic. You guys will love it. There's a lot to talk about, and we will get to it.
Zach Strickland (4:21)
We could continue to talk about the weather.
SPEAKER_4 (4:23)
We can talk about the weather.
