President Trump says the US is striking Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz after Iran's failed attempt to mine the waterway and its missile attack on a US base in Jordan. Trump warned Iran that any retaliation would bring a, quote, much harder and higher level attack with an even larger strike, quote, waiting in the wings. Iran's Revolutionary Guard is already threatening a response. The IRGC spokesperson, Hossein Mahebi, said, quote, severe punishment awaits the aggressors. The United States will regret its new attacks. Iran is also intensifying its crackdown at home. Ten protesters arrested during January's nationwide unrests have reportedly been sentenced to death by Revolutionary Court in Isfahan with six others receiving lengthy prison terms.

The Trump administration is scrapping an Obama-era housing rule it blames for driving up the cost of new homes. Daily Wire contributor Tim Pearce has the details.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Justice Department both rescinded a 2013 policy that let third parties file accessibility complaints over a building's original design indefinitely, a process that left current owners on the hook for flaws they did not even create. Under the new rule, this window is now only open for a year after a building receives certification from the government, along with a shorter two-year window for federal civil suits. Housing Secretary Scott Turner said that the reforms will save sellers millions of dollars, as the old policy forced property owners to spend more than $112 million on retrofits over the past five years to qualify for federal refinancing loans.

ICE arrested over 2,000 illegal immigrants across New York between July 27th and August 29th during Operation Rotten Apple, including gang members, convicted rapists, murderers and child predators, according to Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen. Mullen said the operation proceeded, quote, with no help from New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani or Governor Kathy Hochul, whose administration and city government have backed laws limiting local cooperation with ICE. Here's Mullen.
**Mark Wayne Mullen** (3:29)
Operation Rotten Apple was an operation we decided to take on because you have a very liberal slash socialist mayor here in New York City that instead of working with law enforcement, tries to cut NYPD's budget by $22 million and refuses to work with federal law enforcement. You have a governor that refuses to work with us. While the radical left sanctuary states protect illegals, underneath Trump's administration and Department of Homeland Security, ICE officers, which is our Immigration Custom Enforcement officers, are out there every day protecting Americans.
**Georgia Howe** (4:13)
Mullen added that the federal government plans to send even more agents to New York.
In other news from New York, a top bank executive was killed in a Times Square stabbing spree on Monday. The stabbing was carried out by 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros, described by police as emotionally disturbed. Online video footage shows Cisneros wielding two kitchen knives and refusing to drop them for police. She even threatened the officers saying, I'm not dropping anything, I would rather kill both of you. Two victims were identified in the stabbing, one being now deceased 32-year-old Vice President of Business, Selection and Conflicts at Bank of America, Aaron Piacenti. The second victim has yet to be released, but reports say he's in the hospital in critical condition.

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll resigned this week. The service's top civilian leader stepped down after the rollback of a drone program he'd promoted, as well as the ouster of one of his allies from the Army. The New York Times says he's stepping down in the end over disagreements with Pete Hegseth on personnel matters. Since taking control of the military, the War Secretary has shaken up the Pentagon by wiping out identity politics and focusing more on war fighting. Some high-level personnel have been fired while others have been blocked from promotions. The Times says Driscoll believed that the personnel matters were a distraction from operations in the Middle East and military supply chain issues.
