Satellite images show Iran attempting to rebuild missile bases and infrastructure as the conflict spreads to the Red Sea. Meanwhile, the US is surging more forces to the region. Foreign affairs reporter Cassie Akiva has the latest.

Signs are mounting that the US and Israel are preparing for a more intense phase of the conflict with Iran. The Pentagon has expanded its military footprint across the Middle East, deploying additional aircraft, special operations forces, and medical personnel. While Israel has heightened its military alert level, reopened public bomb shelters in some cities and reviewed emergency hospital plans. The preparations come as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet with President Trump at the White House next Tuesday.
Also, new satellite imagery obtained by Israeli and Western officials shows Iran has moved quickly to repair access to missile bases and is restoring key military infrastructure, including bridges, ports, and production facilities.

Fears about a wave of anti-Semitic violence have grown after a stabbing attack in New York City. Daily Wire contributor Tim Pearce has more.

On Thursday, two separate attacks took place in Manhattan's Upper West Side. One victim was Asian, the other was Jewish, and the attacks took place on Tisha Bav, the Jewish day of mourning commemorating the destruction of the First and Second Temples. New York City Council Speaker Julie Menon said one of the victims appeared to have been targeted because he was Jewish. Mayor Zoran Mamdani said that the incident is under investigation as a potential hate crime. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition. Police arrested a suspect Thursday afternoon after he locked himself in a New York City Department.

A Secret Service agent on JD Vance's detail is being investigated for allegedly leaking operational security information. In a statement to Fox, the Chief of Communications for the Secret Service confirmed that a member of the VP's protective division is, quote, the subject of an administrative investigation and potential criminal inquiry. This involves allegations of compromising operational and information security. The agency wouldn't give specifics, but noted that any conduct that potentially threatens the safety of a protectee will not be tolerated.

Trump administration tariffs went into effect on more than 80 countries on Friday. The new import duties are the latest attempt by the president to hike import barriers into the US as the administration battles in court to protect his trade agenda. The tariffs range from 10% to 12.5% and went into effect just after midnight, the same time that the previously installed 10% tariffs were set to expire.
This round of tariffs was installed under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 The law authorizes the president to take action against other countries if they engage in unreasonable or discriminatory trade practices.

The Trump administration is being forced to release 65,000 ICE detainees. Immigration reporter Ginny Teer has more.

Judges across the country have ordered the release of 65,000 detainees from federal immigration custody, revealing the extent of a massive operation to undermine the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration. White House border czar Tom Homan says ICE detainees are filing a record number of habeas cases to get released and that radical judges are largely granting their petitions.
The surge in habeas petitions comes after DHS issued a sweeping policy to deny volunteerings to ICE detainees. The policy has led to a slew of legal challenges leading to conflicting rulings by circuit courts across the country.

Police say an illegal immigrant attempted to steal nearly 40,000 pounds of toxic tungsten oxide powder. The chemical is used to manufacture items as diverse as armor-piercing rounds, ceramics, laser, optical products and high-tech windows. The entire hall is worth close to $3 million.
Police in Greenfield, Indiana arrested 31-year-old Deepak Kumar, an Indian national, last month after the cargo was reported stolen from Pennsylvania. According to reports, Kumar handed police a California commercial driver's license, an invalid work visa and a fraudulent New York license. He's currently in ICE custody in California.
