French police fired tear gas at protesters on Tuesday as demonstrations over school funding turned violent in parts of the country. According to the Interior Ministry, law enforcement has arrested over 6,000 people since protests began. The Justice Ministry has initiated around 1,800 prosecutions, with about 80% of those against minors. Over 700 police and 200 demonstrators have been injured in the clashes. Protesters say that the government has underfunded education and complain about water leaks, rat infestations, and absent teachers. While the French government tried to tamp down on the unrest, it's strapped for cash under ballooning budget deficits. Macron's government and France's right wing national rally party have accused the socialist party of manufacturing the protests, which that party denies.

Cornell faculty have introduced a no confidence resolution against the school's administration over its handling of the Cornell 7 sexual assault case. The resolution states that the faculty senate has no confidence in the administration's ability to address what it claims is an ongoing crisis of sexual assault on campus. Last month, a woman identified in court filings as Jane Doe, sued Cornell and seven fraternity members, accusing them of drugging and gang raping her while she was supposedly too intoxicated to give consent. One faculty senate member said Cornell's decision to discipline the accused men internally instead of fully giving the case over to law enforcement, quote, feels like a cover up. No criminal charges were filed against any of the Cornell 7 after prosecutors determined there was insufficient evidence to prosecute.

Attorneys for Disney appeared in a federal court today in the latest flashpoint in its battle with the Trump administration. Daily Wire contributor Tim Pierce has more.

Tim Pierce (2:18)

Disney's legal team asked the US. District Court in Washington to step in and stop the FCC, which earlier this year launched a review of eight of Disney's broadcast licenses. Those licenses are owned and operated by ABC, a subsidiary of Disney, and are held in major markets such as New York and Los Angeles. Disney says the FCC review is a thinly veiled punishment for airing news and commentary that President Trump doesn't like. Attorneys on Tuesday likened it to a guillotine over the company that all the while bears increasing legal fees and has self-censored to avoid unpredictable FCC punishments.

The FCC's attorney disagreed with the guillotine analogy. He said that Disney's licenses will remain in full effect during the review and any legal challenges. Commissioner Brendan Carr has said that the review is standard and broadcasters need to be held accountable to their public interest and statutory obligations. Judge Lauren Ali Khan said she would need to collect more information before ruling on the matter.

President Trump has signed an executive order permitting purchase of red dye diesel tax free to all American drivers. Here is more as associate producer Wyatt Harms.

Wyatt Harms (3:19)

This specific diesel is typically reserved for farm equipment and other off-road machinery and is distinguished by its red dye and tax free status. At a rally in Nebraska Monday night, the president said the order would officially waive the off-road requirement and allow anyone to purchase tax free red dye diesel for any reason. Trump says the change would save truckers $100 per fill up and help lower grocery prices. Diesel prices have climbed more than 70 percent since the Iran War began in February and hit a record $6.52 a gallon last month.

An Islamic group with terrorist ties has collected nearly $1.3 million in taxpayer money since 2023 That's according to a Daily Wire investigation. Investigative reporter Meg Brock has the exclusive.

Meg Brock (4:04)

The state of Washington paid the Council on American Islamic Relations through a federally funded program offering legal services to Afghan evacuees, and that money made up roughly a third of the chapter's yearly revenue. Carr Washington has grown from six staffers in 2020 and is on track to reach 20 this year. Carr is the largest Muslim group in the United States with 25 chapters across the country. The Justice Department named the group an unindicted co-conspirator in a case involving a Hamas front group and the governors of Texas and Florida declared Carr a terrorist organization last year. The Carr Washington chapter did not respond to the Daily Wire's request for comment, but the Department of Health and Human Services says, it's reviewing allegations about the group's use of grant money, adding that Americans deserve full transparency when taxpayer dollars are involved.
