President Trump has a major update with the Strait of Hormuz while China issues a warning in response to Economic D-Day. Foreign Affairs reporter Cassie Akiva has the latest.

President Trump says the US. Navy has removed or detonated all mines in the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz, warning Iran that any new mines will be, quote, immediately and systematically destroyed. Trump says the US is monitoring the Strait through Space Force and vowed a, quote, zero tolerance policy on mine placement. The US is now offering up to $10 million for information on key leaders of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. The Rewards for Justice Notice names 14 senior figures across the IRGC and Iran's security establishment. China is also pushing back against the new US. D-Day economic sanctions campaign. Defending its trade with Iran is lawful. Beijing says economic warfare and extreme pressure will only intensify conflicts, and says China's cooperation with Tehran, quote, should not be disrupted or undermined.

Canada is expected to slap retaliatory tariffs on the US after negotiations to reduce Trump's tariffs fell through last week. Associate producer Wyatt Harms has the latest.

Negotiators huddled in DC until about 1030 at night on Friday, when Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called his team home. According to the New York Times, Washington and Ottawa were still at odds over steel and aluminum, the Keystone XL pipeline, Canadian autos and more. President Trump went from optimistic posts earlier in the week that a deal was close to announcing, quote, serious consideration to changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America. The new tariffs that went into effect on Saturday placed a 50% levy on 550 Canadian products, from toilet paper to hockey sticks to smartphones and many other products.

New York City's immigrant business owners have sued Mayor Zoran Mamdani over his plan to open five government-run grocery stores. An industry group for immigrant business owners, the Multicultural Business Coalition, has filed two lawsuits against the mayor.
MBC president Ken Roldan called Mamdani's stores a direct assault on minority business. He complained that the socialist mayor wants to force immigrant bodega owners and grocers to compete against grocery stores supported by their own tax dollars. For his part, Mamdani stood by the proposal, saying he's fully confident in both the legality and importance of our initiative.

Target has issued a major apology after one of their Halloween costumes was deemed racist. Associate producer Garrett Van Teem has the story.

The clown costume, which has since been pulled off shelves, features black and orange patterned shirt and pants, a little clown hat, and a mesh mask with a large grinning mouth. Vigilant racism watchdogs online quickly descended on Target, claiming that the costume being worn by a black child model, harken back to 19th century minstrel show characters. Most casual spectators found the comparison unconvincing, but nevertheless, Target swung into action, polling the item and issuing a public apology. Many online weren't satisfied, however, suggesting Target hasn't done enough to right this vicious and blatant injustice. One commenter garnering over 6,000 likes suggested that Target donate the entirety of their costume sales to urban schools and the NAACP.
