The death toll in Columbia climbs to over 100 175,000 visas have been revoked from foreign nationals. And the WNBA racks up controversies following a flagrant foul against Sophie Cunningham. The death toll in Columbia continues to climb after the country's western region was struck by a 7.4 magnitude earthquake on Monday morning. Columbia's president said that at least 111 people died in the quake and dozens more are being treated. Many more victims are expected as emergency crews try to save those trapped in the rubble and assess the full extent of the damage. Columbia's president added that at least 1,500 homes, 18 health centers and 52 schools were damaged. According to the Colombian Geological Survey, the quake was felt in several other countries as well, including Panama and Venezuela, which itself is recovering from two major earthquakes that hit the country weeks ago.

A Syrian court has sentenced the former strongman Bashar al-Assad to death more than a year and a half after he fled his palace for Russia. Daily Wire contributor Tim Peir says more.
Assad's regime crumbled after rebels and terrorists swept over the country in less than two weeks at the end of 2024 Today, a Syrian criminal court handed the death penalty to Assad and his brother for crimes committed from 2011 to the end of the ex-president's rule. The court also sentenced Assad's cousin, who is imprisoned in Syria, to death as well. During the final years of the Assad regime, Syrian forces carried out brutal attacks against rebels, including the use of chemical weapons that killed scores of civilians. Assad lives in Moscow in exile now since fleeing rebel forces.

President Trump may have engaged in some subtle misdirection while he departed Syria last month because of an assassination threat. The president was photographed and seen boarding Air Force One as usual to leave Ankara. But afterward, he was secretly moved via an airport catering truck to an Air Force C-32A plane, and at that point took off after Air Force One. The extraordinary precaution was taken over concerns that Iran may attempt to kill the president. The White House has not confirmed the report. Instead, in a statement to the Daily Wire, the White House spokesperson touted the safety features of a presidential jet.

President Trump is ordering major changes to the nation's childhood vaccine recommendations. Daily Wire associate producer Brooke Morgato has the latest.

The president has directed federal agencies to narrow the number of diseases covered by routine shots and spread vaccinations across more appointments. The new plan would recommend vaccines for 11 diseases for all children, down from 18, while moving shots for illnesses, including hepatitis and flu, into categories for higher risk children or decisions made between parents and doctors.
Trump also wants to split the combined measles, mumps and rubella vaccination into separate shots, saying that while the change would mean more trips to the doctor, it could have a, quote, huge impact on autism. Critics, including Republican Senator Bill Cassidy, argue the changes lack scientific support, with Cassidy saying, quote, Vaccines are overwhelmingly safe. Vaccines are effective. Vaccines do not cause autism. End quote.

Newly released text messages are putting Dr. Anthony Fauci's COVID-19 vaccine guidelines under fresh scrutiny, with Republican Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas calling for a special counsel to investigate whether Fauci privately acknowledged risks he later downplayed publicly. The messages show Fauci raising concerns in January of 2021 that fever and other immune reactions after a second mRNA vaccine dose could theoretically contribute to first trimester miscarriages among pregnant women. Just weeks later, Fauci publicly said there were no pregnancy-related red flags associated with the vaccines. Marshall says a special counsel could subpoena witnesses, conduct an independent investigation and potentially pursue criminal charges, while also suggesting a commission modeled after the 9-11 Commission as another option.
Nobody walks out of the grocery store these days thinking, that was money well spent.
