So you know what's coming up. We have a new film coming up based on Street Fighter with what I consider a very unorthodox casting.
You did you get a chance to see the trailer? And if so, I did see the trailer. Did that trailer give you any hope or confidence that they're heading into the right direction of this IP?
Miley Planting (0:49)
My first reaction, being just honest, when I saw the trailer, I was like, is this an AI-generated fan? You know, you get these YouTube channels that create these AI things and try to post them. I had to double check. Am I watching this from an official account?
So, that's not even giving a judgment of what the con... Just the visual look of it.
Mike Moe (1:11)
The visual, yeah.
Miley Planting (1:12)
Was... So, that almost took me...
Because it almost looked like some of the backgrounds were almost... They didn't just look like CG green screen comped it. You know, AI has a very particular look.
Xavier Desai (1:26)
Where did you first catch it? Where did you see it at first?
Miley Planting (1:29)
I guess on YouTube.
Xavier Desai (1:32)
Okay, because I saw it on the Game Awards and I stole it, which is why I know it was real.
Miley Planting (1:36)
It was the jet shot.
Xavier Desai (1:38)
Yeah. Yeah. They premiered it on air.
Miley Planting (1:43)
Yeah, so, I mean... Look, here's the thing that makes me, from the business side, understand where it's going. And it's so early. The film is not out for like the better part of the year. So when we see another trailer, we may be like, oh, okay.
Xavier Desai (2:01)
That's what I'm hoping.
Miley Planting (2:02)
Because with early teasers, someone is taking interesting looking shots from what they've got. Some of it doesn't have the VFX done. It doesn't have the final color grade done. They're just putting something out for you to see, to speculate.
Xavier Desai (2:17)
Which is why I wish they would have waited just a little bit longer.
Miley Planting (2:21)
Yeah. But look, the director is a comedy guy.
Xavier Desai (2:27)
Yeah.
Miley Planting (2:31)
So they're clearly going for a comedic thing.
You have to pick your lane, your groove that you're going for. They're not going for an assassin's fist. So instantly, it's not like, oh, this is even trying to compete with what I do or my vision. It's something very different. And that is almost nicer because then it's like, I can just appreciate this as its own thing, not something that's trying to tread in my footsteps, so to speak.
Mike Moe (2:59)
Yeah.
Hey, what's up, everybody? This is Mike Moe from Street Fighter Assassin's Fists. You are listening to ACMG presents TALK TIME LIVE.

Welcome back to the Journal of My Life that covers all things anime, comics, movies and games. This is ACMG presents TALK TIME LIVE, The Prime Show. I am your host, Xavier Desai. We got a lot of news to talk about today with our talk topic, giving my review, my fan thorough review of Street Fighter.
I am out of any game franchise. If you give me a number one game that I love more than any other game, it is Street Fighter. Without question, I am a Gen X gamer, I'm a grown folk gamer, who grew up when the first Street Fighter ever came out.
That heap of trash came out, even though at the time we loved it, but like in today's standard, it doesn't live up because the controls were so crappy, but we still love it because it really started something that led to Street Fighter 2, which was a much better game. And it took everything, all the blueprint of the first game and perfected it and given us a reason why to love fighting games today. I am such a fan of the franchise that I know the story in and out. I know the backstories of each characters because that's what really gravitated me to liking this game. This is one of the first games that we weren't score chasing, you know, because before Street Fighter and all the stuff and in Super Mario, all we were doing were playing games to get the highest score and getting the bragging rights for the highest score. But then Super Mario came out and it was like a beginning, middle and end to it. And then Street Fighter continued it, but then Street Fighter added such a world building element to it, giving, you know, you're not just playing one person, you're playing, you have the ability to play multiple people and each one of them had their own backstory. So it gives fans a chance to actually like, you know, have a main and have their particular favorite character. And there was always a character that people related to more. And it was also a backstory. So when Street Fighter 2 came out, it really changed the dynamic of gaming and storytelling and world building and stuff like that, because there was nothing like it before. And the question is, could this movie capture the pure essence that others did not? And then to some extent, and so a lot of ways, what Assassin's Fist could do. Now, if you watch Street Fighter Assassin's Fist, if you know that that was the most definitive telling of the Street Fighter series that's ever been done, thanks to Joey Anser and thanks to Mike Moe and many others who worked on that project. In fact, that was that clip that you just heard is my interview with Joey Anser that I had earlier this year. As we as I gave flowers to him about what he's done, not knowing what we're getting into, would this film succeed where the original Street Fight 1993 or 4 Street Fighter with Jean-Claude Van Damme failed, where the legend of Chun-Li failed? Would they do justice to the franchise? We're going to talk about that in our talk topic this week, but we also got a lot of things to talk about too that is going on this week as well. Something major was just announced recently regarding the video game industry, and something I've been waiting and hoping and saying that should happen looks like is finally is going to happen. So we're going to talk about that as well. I mean, before we do that, I got to say I am both cold and tired this morning, because this is that time of the year. I live in a building where we don't pay for the heat. The heat automatically comes on when it gets really cold. Well, it's getting is getting really damn cold out here. And the heat hasn't come on yet. So I'm like waking up insanely like like insanely cold. It's like 30 something degrees. And the things that the thing hasn't hit yet. And let me tell you, man, it's basically it basically.
