In this special, epic episode of the bengreenfieldfitness.com podcast, natural ways to protect yourself from radiation.

Is adrenal fatigue a myth?

Do elevation training masks work? What's the difference between sprouting and soaking? How to recover from a meniscus removal? Do vibration plates actually work? How to build muscle fast? What are my recommended RSS feeds for fitness? How to overcome sugar addiction? How to learn from your training logs? How to keep your run cadence high? Does covering your hands and feet in cold training burn more calories? What should kids eat before soccer games and exercise? And should you be concerned if your body temperature is too low?

Oh boy, this is going to be fun.

Ben Greenfield (1:29)

Hey, folks, it's Ben Greenfield. And as you may know, if you're a regular podcast listener, my usual sidekick, Brock Jason Skywalker Armstrong, is off gallivanting around Thailand with his girlfriend ever since we split ways after the race over there. So he's not even with us for the next two weeks.

I have a special surprise podcast sidekick here with you. I had to sleep with her to get her to actually come on the podcast with me, but she's here, she's live, none other than the world famous.

Jessa Greenfield (2:14)

I don't come easy either.

Ben Greenfield (2:15)

Take that for what you will. The world famous Jessa Greenfield.

Jessa Greenfield (2:23)

Hi.

Ben Greenfield (2:24)

So our kids are in the other room watching a cartoon.

We separated our dog, one's in here in the office, and the other one's off somewhere else, so they don't fight with each other while we're podcasting. And if you didn't notice from the intro, we have a ton of questions.

Jessa Greenfield (2:41)

Yeah.

Ben Greenfield (2:42)

I should have warned Jessa in advance.

Jessa Greenfield (2:44)

Yeah, we sure do.

Ben Greenfield (2:45)

This might end up actually being kind of a long podcast. I actually just whipped up some lamb osso buco, which happens to be cooking.

Jessa Greenfield (2:55)

I'm super excited about it, because I didn't have to cook.

Ben Greenfield (2:58)

And I made pad thai the other night.

Jessa Greenfield (3:00)

I know. He came back from Thailand, and he's like a different person. I'm going to send him back.

Ben Greenfield (3:06)

Jessa just sits on her butt now. And rather than podcasting at the ungodly morning hour that I usually podcast with Brock, instead it's like it's Friday evening, we're both drinking wine right now.

Jessa Greenfield (3:20)

It's only going to get better.

Ben Greenfield (3:21)

So this is only going to get better. As a matter of fact, on Monday, you guys, if you're listening in, beware because Monday I've written an epic article on how to get over a hangover as fast as possible, and all the different pills and capsules and remedies that are out there, what works, what doesn't.

I've had to go through a painful amount of self-experimentation to bring this article to you.

Jessa Greenfield (3:44)

But those were some rough nights.

Ben Greenfield (3:46)

Some rough mornings, actually. The nights are fun.

But be sure to check that out if you're listening in. I'm going to release that on Monday. This podcast is going to be released, I believe, on a Saturday. So before we jump in to the usual news flashes that we typically start this podcast out with, a couple quick things. So I raced in Thailand, and it went well.

As listeners know, I've been kind of going with this whole minimalist training approach and doing some short treadmill sprints and really short swims, and basically mountain biking.

SPEAKER_6 (4:25)

How's that working for you?

Ben Greenfield (4:26)

I've been on my triathlon bike twice leading up to these races over in Thailand, and they went really well.

Jessa Greenfield (4:34)

So I'm going to be like an amazing athlete because I don't do anything.

Ben Greenfield (4:39)

Jess and I, we're training right now for a 700-mile adventure race next year.

Jessa Greenfield (4:44)

I do train a little.

Ben Greenfield (4:46)

We bought each other mountain bikes for our 10-year anniversary, so we've been doing lots of mountain biking.

Jessa Greenfield (4:51)

Yeah, but now it's snowing or going to snow.

Ben Greenfield (4:54)

And she is a softie. I just put a light on my bike and go.

Jessa Greenfield (4:59)

You don't have kids to pull around in a trailer.
