As I Lay Dying teased two new songs, Polarized and Retribution, and are asking fans to help finalize the tracklist for their upcoming ninth studio album. The band completed 12 songs and plans to release both teasers on September 15th, inviting fans to vote on their inclusion. The album will be the follow-up to 2024's Through Storms Ahead, their first release after a lineup change. Ella Langley's Choosin Texas remains at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for a 21st week, tying for the longest-running number one in the charts history. The song, co-written by Langley, Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor, continues to dominate Billboard's country charts. Pantera will headline the great NOLA Trendkill Festival in New Orleans on November 20th and 21st. The festival, featuring bands like Down, Corrosion of Conformity and Black Label Society, will also include the Housecore Horror Convention. Motörhead will be honored with an exhibition at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas opening October 2nd. The exhibit will feature handwritten lyrics, photographs and the opportunity to play one of Lemmy's Rickenbacker basses. The museum's record shop will also feature Motörhead albums and merchandise. A previously unreleased Van Halen demo, Glitter from 1974, will be released with an upcoming anthology book in November. The book, limited to 1500 signed copies, includes rare photos, memorabilia, and a personally guided tour through the band's rise. The seven inch picture disc also includes spoken word recordings by Alex Van Halen.

Jhené Aiko announced her new album, Westside Whimsy, set to release on September 11th. The album, inspired by 90s music and California culture, follows her 2020 album, Chilombo. And finally, Billie Eilish will make her feature film acting debut as Esther Greenwood in Sarah Polley's adaptation of Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar. The cast includes Carey Mulligan as Esther's mother, Danielle Dedweiler as her psychiatrist, and a supporting ensemble. Production is wrapped, but a release date has not been announced.
