It's Tuesday, September 29th, 2026 I'm Brian Ibbott, here are Music Headlines for today. Slipknot finally revealed what all that mystery countdown was about. A massive 2027 stadium tour called the Sickest Stadium Tour. It kicks off July 3rd at London's Wembley Stadium, runs through North America from mid-July to mid-August with stops at places like City Field and Fenway Park, then heads to South America in the fall. Bring Me the Horizon will support the whole North American run with Lamb of God, Motionless in White, Lorna Shore and others rotating in on different dates. Artist presale starts today with tickets to the general public on October 2nd.

Rod Stewart announced that 2027 will be his last tour ever at age 81 It kicks off with four US dates in March, moves through the UK and Europe from April into July, and wraps with two shows at Red Rocks over Labor Day weekend. He's been forced to cancel his 2026 North American dates after a coronary stent procedure in August. This new run is being framed as his true farewell. A viral country artist going by the name River Cain is stirring up concern because it isn't real. It's an AI persona, and its handler has been staging fake controversies to rack up views. Videos show the character getting hit with a phone thrown from a crowd, or making emotional hospital visits, all fabricated and presented as if they're genuine. The worry from people watching the space is that most viewers have no idea they're fake, and that content like this is starting to crowd out real artists for attention and streaming money. Right now, platforms like Spotify don't require any kind of AI label on accounts like this one.

It was a busy release day in K-pop with Boynextdoor, Allday Project and NiziU, all dropping new music within hours of each other. NiziU's Sour Grapes is the group's first Korean mini-album, while Boynextdoor's Animal comes off their deluxe edition of Home. Solo artist Minzy and Super Junior's Yesung also had new tracks land in the same window. Fans are calling it one of the most stacked release days of the month.

Korn's Fieldy and Brian Head Welch shared a stage together Sunday night in Boise for the first time in five years. It came as a surprise to fans who weren't expecting to see the two back together so soon. The reunion moment comes right as Korn gears up for a UK and European tour starting in October. No word yet on whether this was a one-off or a sign of more to come.

Country rocker Sam Canty of Treaty Oak Revival is asking fans to knock it off after a woman was hospitalized with a concussion from a flying chair at a recent show. In a video statement, Canty said, Please stop throwing shit into the crowd or at the stage and made clear the band doesn't condone it. It's part of a pattern of object throwing that's followed the band's shows for a while now. Critics say the response, while welcome, is coming pretty late given how long this has been going on. John Mayer announced a run of six shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas next April. Each night will be split into three different sets, one acoustic and solo, one with his full band, and one as a trio. VIP packages go on sale Wednesday with general tickets following on October 9th. It's his first solo residency at the venue.

Billy Joel is auctioning off more than 70 motorcycles from his personal collection this November in New York, including a 1978 Triumph that Madison Square Garden gave him as a gift and a 1975 Ducati expected to fetch up to $35,000. Proceeds go to his own foundation. Apparently, after decades of playing arenas, what the piano man really wanted was a garage full of bikes.

And before we go, Wendy's put out an actual Emo album this last weekend called Songs to Listen to in a Wendy's Parking Lot, made in partnership with Rise Records. It features vocalists from Memphis May Fire, Anberlin, Silverstein, Bless the Fall, State Champs, and Holy Wars all leaning hard into early 2000s Emo sensibilities. Track titles include She Said She Didn't Want Fries, My Frosty's Funeral, and It's Not a Phase, It's a 10-piece. It's a full commitment to the bit, and honestly, it kind of slaps. And finally, it's time for our top five of the Billboard 200 albums chart. Number five, The Great Divide by Noah Kahan. Number four, I'm The Problem by Morgan Wallen. Number three, You Seem Pretty Sad for A Girl So In Love by Olivia Rodrigo. Number two, Dandelion by Ella Langley. And number one, taking that top spot, West Side Whimsy by Jhene Aiko.
