It's Friday, October 9th. I'm Eileen Rivera, and here are your music headlines for today. Taylor Swift will perform at the 6th Annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on October 17th, honoring Charlize Theron, Colman Domingo, and John Carpenter. The fundraiser supports the museum's exhibitions, educational programs, and public film screenings. Her set remains unannounced, but Variety suggests she could perform her Toy Story 5 song, I Knew It, I Knew You, a potential contender for her first Oscar nomination.

Grand Theft Auto VI will feature a heavy metal radio station, 106.6 The Chamber, hosted by Slayers Tom Araya and Kerry King. A preview includes Black Sabbath's Eye, Slayer's Raining Blood, and Pantera's Mouth for War, alongside announcements of other stations covering pop, Latin, African, and country music. A separate 34-track soundtrack album will arrive on streaming services vinyl and CD on November 19th, coinciding with the game's scheduled release.

Clive Davis' pre-Gramming Gala will return on February 6, 2027 at the Beverly Hilton, marking its first edition since his death in June at age 94 The Recording Academy will continue the tradition with performances from major artists while honoring Davis' life and legacy. Performers and further event details will be announced in the coming months. Rihanna revealed during an October 7th Fenty Beauty TikTok livestream that she has at least 170 unreleased songs, playfully comparing her music archive to the brand's 10 product Gloss Bomb Vault. The revelation comes more than a decade after her last album, Anti, and follows ASAP Rocky's August comments that she was recording in the studio. She did not announce her release date for new music. Björk will release Björk Orkestral With the Hamrahlíð Choir worldwide on November 27th, featuring recordings from her 2021 concert at Reykjavík's Harper Hall. The album primarily reimagined songs from the Medúlla with a 50-person choir, using arrangements refined during extensive pandemic era rehearsals. Previously available exclusively at the National Gallery of Iceland, it will arrive on vinyl, CD, blu-ray and DVD with no digital release announced. Katseye, Sophia Laforteza will resume group activities in the first week of January 2027, after taking a hiatus in August to focus on her mental health and well-being. She will miss the North American leg of the group's wild world tour and all remaining promotional activities in 2026 Sophia thanked fans for their support, said she has been receiving care and expressed excitement about returning to the stage with her bandmates.
