It's Thursday, October 8th. I'm Eileen Rivera, and here are your music headlines for today. Aerosmith will reunite for two special Hollywood Bowl concerts on October 29th and November 1st. Following the band's 2024 retirement from touring because of Steven Tyler's vocal injury. Billed as California, Dream On, Aerosmith and Friends, the shows will feature different guest lineups, including Run-DMC, Heart, The Black Crows, Billy Idol, and Slash. Presales begin October 8th, followed by general ticket sales October 10th. The concerts do not represent an announced return to regular touring. Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest, 2027 will air simultaneously on ABC and Disney Plus for the first time in its 55-year history, beginning December 31st at 8 p.m. Eastern. Comedian Druski joins his Chicago co-host while Rita Ora returns in New York, and Julianne Hough and Rob Gronkowski return in Las Vegas.

Drake reportedly declined to submit music from his three 2026 albums, Iceman, Made of Honor and Habibti for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards continuing his pattern of withholding releases from the awards. Drake has won five Grammys and received 56 nominations. A nude portrait of Harry Styles photographed by Tim Walker during the shoot for his 2019 album, Fine Line is featured in Walker's new London exhibition, Fairyland, Love and Legends. Exploring queer identity, community and love, the exhibition opens October 9th at the National Portrait Gallery and runs through February 7th, 2027 David Guetta, Top DJ, Mag's 2026 Top 100 DJs poll for a record six time, becoming its most successful winner after votes from 234 territories. Announced that Abiza's Universe, the results also saw Anyma rise to number three, Charlotte de Witte win the Top Techno DJ Award, and Josh Baker become the highest new entry at number 40 The poll's partnership with Bridges for Music raised 120,000 pounds to support 120 students at its academy in Langa, South Africa.

Slayer will release a limited edition liquid-filled Zoetrope vinyl of Reign in Blood on November 20th to celebrate the album's 40th anniversary. Available for pre-order through Sound of Vinyl, the record contains red liquid resembling blood to match the album's imagery. The anniversary celebrations also include performances of the album in full with shows at Los Angeles' Kia Forum on November 13th and 14th.
