It's Wednesday, October 7th, 2026, I'm Tom Merritt. Here are your music headlines for today. Stray Kids have joined BTS in opting out of submitting music for the 2027 Grammy Awards, both citing frustration with the Recording Academy's new separate Asian pop category. Drake has also reportedly declined to submit this year. It's turning into one of the more pointed boycotts the Grammys have faced in recent memory, with multiple top tier acts sitting out this one. The Recording Academy hasn't issued a detailed response to all of this yet. Miley Cyrus' new album Bass Persuades just posted the biggest Week 2 chart drop ever for a number one debut, falling 156 spots on the Billboard 200 The album had leaned heavily on more than a dozen vinyl variants to power its opening week sales. It marked her first number one album since 2013, but the freefall afterward is being called historic for very different reasons. Industry Watchers are already citing it as a case study in variant-driven chart inflation.

Staind is expanding their Break the Cycle 25th anniversary tour into 2027, adding new North American dates with Seether, Hoobastank and Hinder along for the ride. The tour celebrates the quarter century mark of the album that produced It's Been a While. New stops include Spokane, Huntington and Oklahoma City, among others. Tickets for the newly added shows go on sale this week.

Josh Homme has put together a stacked one-night-only benefit concert in Los Angeles, recruiting Dave Grohl, Beck, Jack Black, Weird Al Yankovic, and St. Vincent, among others. The show is set for the Will-Turn. Lineups like this don't come together often, and fans are already speculating about surprise collaborations. Details on ticket availability are expected soon.

Mudvayne's Chad Gray has canceled a couple of upcoming California solo shows after dealing with vocal cord issues. He said the injury has him rattled, telling fans it's his career on the line, but he's taken the time to rest and recover properly. The affected shows were in San Diego and Santa Ana. No word yet on when he expects to be back on stage.

FLO has announced their 2027 Therapy at the Club Tour, hitting North America, the UK and Europe. It's a significant step for the British R&B trio, who've been building momentum fast since their breakout. Tickets for the new dates go on sale later this week. Robbie Williams has been named this year's Album Icon for National Album Day, with his 2000 album, Sing When You're Winning getting its first ever colored vinyl pressing, red and blue double LP, out October 17th. The album gave us rock DJ and the Kylie Minogue duet, Kids. Williams was picked for the honor on the strength of a catalog that includes 90 million album sales worldwide. Pre-orders are already up at most major UK retailers.

And finally, a rare 1969 Led Zeppelin single turned up on the British version of the Antiques Roadshow this week, a record the band themselves reportedly ordered destroyed decades ago. It's a copy of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love from a rare pressing of 500 copies by Atlantic Records, but the band had a strict no singles policy. And when they found out about the release, they ordered that every copy be recalled and destroyed. Experts on Antiques Roadshow said this single shouldn't really exist. Nobody's quite sure how this particular copy slipped through, but it's now one of the more head scratching pieces of rock memorabilia out there. Hey, if you want to be the first to hear about future live streams, discuss the latest news, talk about music, help shape the future of the show, maybe join the Daily Music Headlines Discord at tiny.cc slash DMH Discord. This show is produced by Hammond Chamberlain and Anthony Lemos. It's written and hosted by Brian Ibbott, Eileen Rivera, and occasionally me, your executive producer, Tom Merritt, theme music by Lex Dallas and the State Street Players. Thanks for listening. That's it for today.

We'll see you next time. The Club hopes you have enjoyed this brover.
