It's Wednesday, October 14th, 2026 I'm Brian Ibbott. Here are Music Headlines for today. Tom Morello finally got to hold Randy Rhoads' famous Flying V style guitar after the Rhoads family kept it largely out of sight for decades. Rhoads' mother had asked that the guitar never be played again after his death. So Morello only got to hold it, not play it, but called the moment deeply emotional. He noted the leather strap still smelled faintly of cigarette smoke from Rhoads' final shows in 1982 Morello has long credited Rhoads as a major influence, even naming his own son after him.

Lana Del Rey made her first live appearance in nearly a year, debuting the new song White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter from her album Stove at the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix. She joined a line up that also included Zara Larsen and Cortez for the race weekend's entertainment. Fans have been waiting on new live material from her for months. The performance is already circulating widely online.

Raye says the ticket sign-up process for her intimate Royal Albert Hall show was overwhelmed by resellers using AI bots after the pre-sale drew close to two million sign-up attempts for what's normally a venue holding a few thousand people. She called it an experience that really opened her eyes to the scale of the problem, saying she'd never witnessed bot activity on that level. The team has had to adjust the sale process as a result, adding extra verification steps. It's the latest example of artists publicly pushing back against bot-driven ticket resellers following similar complaints from other acts this year.

Hans Zimmer's Blue Planet III score is getting its own 2027 orchestral tour, bringing the nature documentary's music to UK arenas with a live orchestra. The shows will pair live performance with footage from the series. It's part of a growing trend of film and TV scores getting to full concert treatment. Dates and venues across the UK are being announced this week.

A nearly 20-year-old interview with Amy Winehouse has resurfaced, in which she opens up about her marriage, the reaction to Back to Black, and her hope to make her mark on music. It's a rare candid look back at an artist whose influence has only grown in the years since that album. Bands have been sharing clips from the interview widely this week, pulling out quotes about her creative process and influences. It's a reminder of just how singular her voice still sounds two decades on. Finally, Greta Gerwig managed to pull off something pretty rare. She convinced Led Zeppelin to let her use Stairway to Heaven in the trailer for her upcoming Narnia film, The Magician's Nephew. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page reportedly met with her directly before signing off. The band is famously protective of its music being used in film and advertising, so this is a notable exception. The trailers already got people talking about just how well the song fits the footage.
