It's Friday, June 5th. I'm Eileen Rivera, and here are your music headlines for today. The 79th Annual Tony Awards, hosted by Pink, will air live from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 7th. Presenters and performers include Rachel Zegler, Leslie Odom Jr, Josh Gad, Andrew Rannells, and more. The ceremony will also include a reunion of the original cast of Book of Mormon for its 15th anniversary, along with a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Chicago's Broadway revival featuring Queen Latifah, Pink and others. Also slated to perform are nominees from the Best Musical and Best Revival of a musical categories. Prince's estate has announced Timeless, a new posthumous album arriving August 28th that features 10 rare and previously unreleased recordings spanning nearly four decades of his career from 1977 through 2016 The collection is described as the first Prince release curated to showcase every major era of his artistic evolution and includes the previously released vault track With This Tear along with the newly unveiled single Stone. K-Pop group Le Sserafim's new album Pureflow Pt 1 debuted at number one on Billboard's top album sales chart with 34,000 copies sold in the US., marking the group's second career leader on the chart. The album also entered the Billboard 200 at number 10 with 41,000 equivalent album units, giving Le Sserafim their fifth consecutive top 10 album in the United States. Mel B says the long rumored Netflix docu-series about the Spice Girls appears to be no longer moving forward, revealing in a recent interview that while the project had been in development, she does not believe it will happen now. She hinted that the behind-the-scenes issues may have played a role previously suggesting that a documentary would require complete honesty from all five members and that not everybody wants to be honest about the group's history. The news comes after plans for Spice Girls' 30th anniversary reunion were also shelved, with both Mel B and Mel C confirming that no reunion tour or major group project is currently planned for 2026 Apple Corps Ltd and The Beatles have officially recognized Global Beatles Day, a fan-created annual celebration held on June 25th that commemorates the band's 1967 worldwide performance of All You Need Is Love on the BBC's Our World Broadcast. The event was founded in 2009 by fan Faith Cohen, and has since grown into a worldwide movement featuring tribute concerts, exhibitions, sing-alongs, and community gatherings inspired by the Beatles' message of love and unity. To mark this year's celebration, Apple Corps will release a newly colorized version of the Beatles' historic All You Need Is Love performance on YouTube for the first time, giving fans around the world a chance to relive the landmark broadcast. Country music legend, Alan Jackson, will receive a major television send-off with Alan Jackson, The Last Show, an NBC primetime special built around the final concert of his touring career, taking place June 27th at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. The special, which will also stream on Peacock, will feature celebrity tributes, backstage moments, and performances celebrating Jackson's decades-long impact on country music. Ticketmaster was forced to temporarily halt ticket sales for Céline Dion's highly anticipated Paris residency after detecting suspicious activity with bots and scalpers reportedly overwhelming the system and preventing many genuine fans from purchasing tickets. The disruption sparked frustration among fans waiting in online queues prompting Ticketmaster France to apologize and assure customers that technical teams were working to block bad actors and restore the sales process. Taylor Swift's net worth has reached an estimated $2 billion, according to Forbes, making her the richest female musician in history and one of the few artists to achieve billionaire status primarily through music rather than outside business ventures. Her fortune is driven by the record breaking eras tour, music royalties, streaming revenue, merchandising, catalog value and significant real estate holdings. It's Friday.
