It's Wednesday, June 24th, 2026 I'm Brian Ibbott, and here are your music headlines for today. Following up from a story yesterday, Bailey Zimmerman apologized to fans and the Pueblo of Sandia following an incident at Sandia Resort & Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The singer acknowledged the incident, expressed regret and stated that they are taking the legal matter seriously.
Country music star Thomas Rhett will be inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame on July 8th. Rhett, a Nashville native, will be the 113th inductee recognized for his contributions to the city's musical heritage and his 25 number one hits. The induction ceremony will take place the day before his concert at Geodes Park.
Lin-Manuel Miranda, come out and play! Lin-Manuel Miranda is planning an upcoming Broadway musical, Warriors, which is based on the 1979 film of the same name. The musical will feature a gender-flipped cast and will be directed by Jenny Koons with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler. Brandon Flowers, frontman of the Killers, will release his first solo album in over a decade, Thrasher, on August 21st. The album, recorded in Nashville, embraces country and Americana influences, drawing from Flowers' adolescence in Utah, and featuring collaborations with Nashville musicians. Thrasher explores personal stories and themes, culminating in the sprawling An American Dream. PJ Harvey released Voyager, a new track inspired by NASA's Voyager probes. The song, originally conceived for her next album, was recorded with a full orchestra and features lyrics referencing Carl Sagan. Harvey was invited to contribute the song to Professor Brian Cox's live show, Emergence. Pharrell Williams premiered new music collaborations with Quavo, Lil Baby and Angelique Kidjo at the Louis Vuitton menswear Spring-Summer 2027 show in Paris. The show featured live performances by L'Orchestre du Pont-Neuf and Voices of Fire. And finally, StubHub UK was fined £889,200, which is approximately $1.2 million, by the UK Competition and Markets Authority for drip pricing. Adding mandatory fees at checkout, the CMA ordered StubHub to refund over 50,000 customers, a combined total exceeding £590,000. The penalty is the first under the new Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which bans drip pricing.
