Olivia Rodrigo's third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, has shattered first day streaming records, becoming the most streamed album by a female artist in a single day on Spotify in 2026, setting new marks on both Spotify and Amazon Music. The album's success continues Rodrigo's chart dominance fueled by hit singles such as Drop Dead and Strong Fan Engagement, including more than 2 million Spotify presaves ahead of release.
At the 2026 Tribeca Festival, Bruce Springsteen received the Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award from Bono and used the occasion to apologize for previously refusing to let his song, Girls in Their Summer Clothes, be used in a Gap campaign supporting Bono's Red Charity Initiative, calling the decision a mistake. BBC Music has announced Madonna & Graham, a world-exclusive television special in which Madonna sits down with Graham Norton for an in-depth conversation about her life, career, creative journey, and cultural legacy. The program was filmed at London's historic Koko, the site of Madonna's first UK performance in 1983, and arrives ahead of the release of her upcoming album, Confessions II, this July. The move appears aimed at strengthening control over his vocal identity as AI-generated voice cloning and sound-alike content become increasingly common in the entertainment industry. However, trademark experts note that securing these registrations could be challenging because Richie must show that consumers associate those vocal phrases with specific goods or services, not just the songs themselves. The Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, has officially surpassed Bohemian Rhapsody to become the highest grossing music biopic of all time, earning approximately $911.9 million worldwide since its release in April 2026 The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Michael's nephew Jafar Jackson, has set multiple box office records, including the largest global opening weekend for a musical biopic and the highest grossing biopic ever in the United States.
