It's Friday, June 12th. I'm Eileen Rivera, and here are your music headlines for today. The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicked off in Mexico City with the first of three opening ceremonies planned across the tournament's host nations, Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Shakira and Burna Boy headlined the event, performing the official World Cup anthem, Dai Dai, before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa. The ceremony celebrated Mexican culture and marked the start of the largest World Cup in history, featuring an expanded 48 team field and three host countries. Bonnaroo 2026 is being livestreamed Thursday through Sunday on Hulu and Disney Plus, giving fans at home access to performances from many of the festival's biggest artists. The stream features two channels of programming with headliners including The Strokes, Skrillex, Rüfüs Du Sol, and Noah Kahan. Alongside acts such as Vince Staples, Turnstile, Clipse, Kesha, and Japanese Breakfast. Some performances including Weird Al Yankovic and Kesha's Super Jam set are not included in the broadcast. Spanish star Cuevo has announced his El Bifo Tour for 2027 using an unusual video game style rollout rather than a traditional tour announcement. Fans visit an interactive website where they collectively play a game featuring a bifo or baby goat, a symbol tied to his Canary Island roots, and as participation increases, new tour cities and dates are unlocked. K-pop group Bigbang will reunite as a trio featuring G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung for a massive 31-show stadium world tour celebrating the group's 20th anniversary. The trek is set to begin with concerts at Goyang Stadium in South Korea in August before traveling across Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania. The tour marks Bigbang's first major group tour in nearly a decade and their most significant reunions since returning to activity with Still Life in 2022 Tyla is making her Disney, Pixar voice debut in the Sub-Saharan African version of Toy Story 5, voicing a new character called the Inflatable Flamingo, a playful pool toy who joins Woody, Buzz and the gang on their latest adventure. The South African star said she was thrilled to receive the offer, calling Toy Story a beloved franchise in her family and describing the role as a dream come true after jokingly asking Disney to hit her up on social media in 2023 A judge has dismissed a lawsuit accusing Lil Wayne of threatening and assaulting a security guard at his Hidden Hills home, ruling that the plaintiff repeatedly failed to comply with court-ordered discovery requirements. The court ordered the security guard Christian Carlos and his attorney to pay $29,225 plus Lil Wayne's legal fees, citing nearly 10 months of non-compliance and misrepresentations to the court. Carlos had alleged that Lil Wayne pointed a semi-automatic rifle at him and punched him during a 2021 incident while the rapper's representatives denied the allegations. And it's Friday.
